Saving Money on Gas

Raise your hand if you make a point to drive an extra few blocks out of your way so that you can save 4¢ per gallon when you fill up your car with gas. (You can put your hands down, I can’t really see you…but thank you for your enthusiasm.)

I usually kick myself (okay, not literally, because kicking while driving would be dangerous) if I’ve filled my tank with gas, then right down the road as I drive on my way, I see a station with a less expensive gas price. Read the rest of this article over at Deal Moon…

We only have 3 gas stations in my town and they are all pretty competitive, but I do go to the lowest priced one. My local news stations website has a list of the cheapest gas stations in the area.

I go for the cheaper if I know it in advance. It does mount up over a year’s time. We need to save all we can.

I go for the most convenient. All the stations around here are within a few pennies of one another and there is no way I will make a left hand turn on a busy highway at rush hour just to save $0.20. We drive small cars, we combine trips, we drive as efficiently as we can. But we live in one of our nations more congested areas and to me, the stress isn’t worth the few pennies I will save.

Gasbuddy.com, plug in your zip and it shows the cheapest gas pump prices around.

ooh thanks for that! gasbuddy.com.. i will def be checking that out. we always go to walmart because its on the way home from my husbands job, and our church.. if you get a gift card you can save 3c a gallon.. so every friday, my husband gets off work, goes to the bank and stops in at walmart for the “gas card” on the way home.. of course he gets home like an hour later than his usual late (5:30-6:30pm) but its friday which is usually movie night anyway, so we dont mind waiting..
