I still haven’t tried it, I would LOVE to win! Do you know if their coconut oil is safe for people with peanut allergy? Another brand I saw in the store said it was made on equipment that also processes peanut butter. Haven’t been able to find any info on Tropical Traditions website.

i love coconut oil….use it on my skin (me and the 1 year old), as a moisturizer, scalp moisturizer for the 1 year old, skin softener in the bath, diaper rash cream/prevention/treatment, cooking, and feed it to my son at night before bed (so healthy!)—-a lot of other uses i want to try as well!

I LOVE Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil. If you’re looking for the best oil for your nutrition, you cant beat organic, unrefined coconut oil. Many varieties are good, but I prefer Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil.
Coconut oil is a very beneficial fat since it contains lauric acid (found in mother’s milk) which has a great antiviral effect on your body. I learned that it is also good for the thyroid and it will not raise your cholesterol levels if consumed with foods containing essential fatty acids.
I suffered for many years from candida in my intestinal tract and nothing I tried helped to any great degree. Three months after using coconut oil, my candida was gone.
I asked a nutritionist why, and she informed me that extra virgin coconut oil contains a high level of caprylic acid – a powerful antifungal. She also informed me that a very high percentage of men and women have candida in various parts of the body. The majority don’t even know it and, many that do, find it to be stubborn and persistent.
Like antibiotics, candida suppresses the immune system. No wonder they feel tired and listless. Coconut oil, on the other hand, is a probiotic that immunizes the body from disease.
Another benefit I appreciate is that it is excellect for sauteeing (unlike extra virgin olive oil which deteriorates at high temperatures) because it is a naturally stable oil. I love it as a salad dressing, on chicken, turkey and fish, as well as on baked potatoes and vegetables.
I could go on and on about the benefits of this wonderful oil. Suffice it to say that you’ll see the difference when combined with wholesome, healthy foods. You can keep it for many, many months at room temperature or refrigerated. Just be sure to store it away from light in its original dark light-proof bottle.
I’ll be running out of my Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil in about one or two months, and I would certainly love to have a one-gallon tub for myself and to introduce it to my relatives and friends.
