Gratituesday: John 14:27

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27

Those are words from Jesus, and they speak life and truth to me. The comfort and love in those words are enormous. Is there trouble in this world? Yep. Is Jesus bigger? Absolutely. Do we put our trust in people or things or ourselves? No way. We trust the One who gives abundantly more than anything this world has to offer.

I love everything I read in the Bible, but it is the words of Jesus that I’m feasting on.

It works well for me to print out verses and put them up in my house so that I can see them often. In case that works well for you too, I made this to share:

I’d love to hear other verses that are speaking truth into your lives!

Thanks for this! Another one of my favorites is Be still and know that I am God… With life being so hectic I like to remind myself of that… To just be still. He’s the one looking after us and I don’t have to worry.. I’m right in the middle of the Lords Will. Also I received my order from you yesterday and I love it. Thank you for getting the book to me so quick. :)

How wonderful! Just printed mine out. Since we’re taking a break from picture study this week, it’ll go into that frame in the dining room. The Lord gave this verse to my mother when we lived in a foreign country and even gave it to her in song, so it’s one of those special life verses for me.

Great scripture! Thank you for sharing!

I’m so grateful that my hubby and I got to escape for a week to celebrate 10 years of marriage! We had such a great time being with each other ONLY! We stayed at a couple B&Bs along the coast of California. Spent lots of time relaxing and we had fun dancing, going to the movie theatre… stuff re rarely do with 3 children at home. :) What a blessing it was. Grateful God brought us back home safely to our three daughters, too.

Come unto Me, all who are weary and laden, and I will give you rest. For My yoke is easy and My burden light.

This scripture is such a comfort. How great is it to know that He
is thinking a vast sum of thoughts about me, right now!

Thank you for this verse today. My Mom passed away last night and my oldest brother is in the hospital fighting cancer. This verse brings to mind a song I sang with the local chorus and singing it in my head has been a real comfort to me tonight.

Thank you for this blessed reminder! My four-year-old has been recently diagnosed with T-cell Lymphoma, and we are awaiting results of bone marrow after a month of treatment. I came across this while catching up with your blog this afternoon and it brings tears to my eyes to think of these words coming from the mouth of my Savior, straight to my heart!
