gratituesdaynov09

I have written and deleted and re-written this post two or three times…trying to express my gratitude to God and to all of you for what this site has become in the past two years.

I know what I’m capable of. That’s how I know that God has blessed this site.

And…without you…my friends who read my posts and leave comments and email me and ask questions and encourage me and pray for me…this site would be nothing.

Thank you.

Your comments make me smile. Your kindness builds me up. Your emails make my day. Your encouragement keeps me going.

This Gratituesday is dedicated to all of you. You are the reason I love what I do.

Thank you with all my heart.

    Laura-
    Thanks for all you do!
We bug you and ask for things- and you make full effort to help us! What a blessing! We asked for ‘snacks’ and now my kids regularly eat your cheese crackers and your graham crackers! You’re a blessing!

I am grateful that even though the fridge and pantry are almost empty everyone in the house will be able to have 3 meals a day. I am grateful that I have a great group of caring friends who are always willing to help. I am also grateful for getting great quotes stuck in my head!

Recently, I was reading about daily gratitude and decided to take time each day in November to write down something for which I am grateful. Then, I will make a scrapbook page to document the month of gratefulness. Your challenge will encourage me!

Love the new updates, especially the lists when I hover over a category!

Thank you, Laura for your dedication to this. It is truly a ministry to many! Thank you for your focus on gratitude!

In response to your comment about my blogpost last week… Yes, it was Bonita Barnacle McEndree who lost her husband. I’ve left that same post up for this week, too.

    I love and appreciate you!

You are truly a HEAVENLY HOMEMAKER! Thanks for blessing so many moms!!!

I view thanksgiving as the opposite of complaining. So, after reading this verse and thinking about “this little light of mine”, I take accept your challenge to be more thankful this month.

    Philippians 2:14-16

“Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life…”

Laura you have been a blessing to me in so many ways. I can’t even begin to mention them all!

Your website was the ONLY one where I actually attempted and made two recipes! (and turned out wonderfully!) They just looked that GOOD and they were easy! I had everything in my pantry, I didn’t need to go to the store and made a special trip.

I love how you take suggestions and if you can, use them or add them!

    So, Laura, thank YOU!

The feeling is more than mutual. This is one of my favorite times of the year. I love how God gives us the seasons to enjoy as now I’ve been sipping hot cider and tea, making pumpkin bread, and playing board games with my husband since it’s getting dark out earlier. I am so grateful for the fall season.

Thankful for the warm, squirming two-year-old on my lap as I read to my kids this morning. She is my comic relief and the warmth to melt my heart lately.

(Thanks for the reminder to find the blessings. I needed it.)

A good friend posted this on Facebook this morning … xxxxx has a Facebook friend that is out taking Grace for a walk this morning… Grace is her dog :) As I was reading her update I realized, Grace is taking me for a walk today. :) Today… I rest knowing that He (Grace) is out taking a walk with me :)

Matthew 11:28-30 says “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me – watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill – fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

I am so thankful for the Word and that my Heavenly Daddy would send me a well timed Word at just the right moment to lift me up. Think I’m gonna go take a walk…

Laura, Reading your articles (both in the newspaper and online) makes me feel like I’m not the only Mom in the world with wacky children who do things to make me laugh and groan all in the same breath. Plus, I have no idea what to expect in raising a boy and I get lots of things to think about, plan for and prepare for when I read what you write. It is an encouragement that I need so frequently these days. And so for that, and many other things about you as a person, I am grateful to know you and have you in my life!

I’m so thankful today, and there’s a pretty long list of things to thank God for. I have to put my husband at the top of the list. He works 40+ hours a week and is a full-time student in the evenings. He pushes himself to the limit, in order to be the best provider and leader he can be. I’m seeing him grow and learn and stretch beyond his own abilities, as God brings him through the challenges and tasks he’s facing. Every day, as he studies, goes to work, spends his spare time in school work and the little bits of leisure time he can squeeze into his schedule– he’s showing me how much he loves me. His sacrifices are a gift of love, to the highest degree. I’m also grateful that he loves what he’s doing, and that he’ll be done with school in a few months!

I am thankful for people like you who aid in my family’s transition into a more “God-Led” life. We have always been believers and we have relied on the Lord in so many ways, BUT…to truly be convicted to fully turn our lives over to HIM has been a blessing in itself.
Thank you for being a part of this journey and all the advice, ideas, spiritual relief you give to me daily as I read your blog. You are an inspiration in so many ways!
