There’s a lot of excitement at our house right now! Christmas is coming…but even better…Grandpa Coppinger is coming!
We go to California every other year for Christmas. Since we went out last year, that means we won’t see most of Matt’s side of the family this year. :(
BUT, it is working out for Matt’s dad to come from California to see us!
(Let’s not tell him how cold it is in Nebraska right now. Or about all the snow. And ice.)
He flies in this Thursday and gets to stay for over a week! He’s wonderful to have around! He plays with the boys. He fixes things around the house. He compliments my cooking…
He hasn’t seen my dad since Matt and I got married 15 years ago. Both of our dads are excited to see each other again when we make a quick trip to Kansas on Christmas day!
It’s gonna be a great time! I’m so thankful God worked out all the details for him to come!

There is so much to be thankful for, through the good times and the bad. I have thought many times about getting back to posting for Gratituesday, but haven’t done so since my brother’s unexpected death 6 months ago. The thing is, even through these difficult times, there has been so much to be grateful for! This week, I am grateful for my parents’ example of a strong and healthy marriage and for my dear husband of 14 years (almost) :D Thank you for giving each of us an opportunity to remember and share just how much there is for which we can “sing praise to our Lord.”

Enjoy !
We don’t have many members in our family, “just” my mum, my sister and her dear son 16, and they are coming from Burgundy in our home for Christmas : I am so happy to have them all for 4 days this year !! My children are 19 and 17 and will be there too for Christmas ! I will be able to love them and bless them with my cooking ! I’m so grateful !
Merry Christmas to you all !!

I am grateful that in times of uncertainty and times of sadness – my family can come together to pray and support one another and that we rely on the comfort of our Creator. I am thankful for the wonderful upcoming holiday -so that we may celebrate the birth of Jesus instead of concentrating on the health problems of my dad.

Thank you for your post. It was so timely and reminded me that something I’m so thankful for at this time is hope. Hope is my key to the future and to getting through this stressful time.
Have a great Christmas with your family.
Blessings,

Laura, I am thankful for your weekly column in our local newspaper. Today my kids told me to be sure and read your column because it was funny. Usually they comment on Garfield, Marmaduke, or maybe Family Circus but today it was “What is UP with the Snuggie?”. We all had a chuckle and know all too well about getting stuck in the snow. It also means they actually read the newspaper! By the way, our dog has a little pink snuggie:)
