This week, with my server going down officially and forever and the effort of switching it over to a new one (which was mostly up to my webmaster/friend, but still) I have been thrown into an amazingly tight knot. I don’t have high blood pressure, but I was thinking it might be wise to monitor it on Monday afternoon. And also on Tuesday. And then again on Wednesday.
By Thursday, my brain was so fried that I put lunch on a pizza stone to warm in the oven…turned on the oven…went into the other room to play a game with Asa…asked Elias about 20 minutes later to turn off the oven because surely lunch was hot enough by now…finished the game…went to put lunch on the table…
AND REALIZED THAT LUNCH WAS STILL ON THE COUNTERTOP ON THE PIZZA STONE.
I hadn’t even put it into the oven.
So, so fried. My brain, not lunch. Lunch was cold.
And you can just guess who didn’t win the game I was playing with Asa. Several times he kindly reminded me that I could still move my game pieces if I wanted to get my pieces to the other end of the game board as was the goal of the game (we were playing Traverse). He must think his mother is a complete Ding Bat. Poor kid.
Anyway, I really like asking these questions over the weekend because they are SUCH a fun way to get to know you better. But my fried brain can not think of one question to ask.
So, I’m copping out and going back to the very first question I ever asked which was the beginning of these wonderful get to know my reader questions.
Many of you are new to my site since then (it was about a year and a half ago when I started these), and even if you already answered it then, you can just humor me and answer it again.
It’s a fun question, and may be relevant to an upcoming post next week. The question was is in all its simplistic glory:
Chocolate…or vanilla?

Chocolate all the way! I love your blog and have tried many of your recipes. They are always a hit. Thanks for sharing.
Chocolate!!
No brainer – chocolate for sure.
I have to disagree with the previous comments… VANILLA is the only option for me!!!
It would be chocolate 4 me!!
Chocolate!
You’ve got to be kidding. It’s ALL about chocolate!
Chocolate – like vitamins – at least a tiny piece daily!
Both!!! I love your blog you are awesome keep it up!!!
Vanilla!
Chocolate usually all the time, but swirled every now and then :-) Can’t a girl change her mind?! hehe! What a joy to read your blog! I’ve really been enjoying trying some of your recipes lately (I’m just beginning to explore the soaking method and bought the nourishing traditions cook book). So far I have tried the following of your recipes and REALLY enjoyed them;
breakfast cake
garlic chicken pasta (this was AMAZING… it tastes like there is lots of butter and heavy cream)
zucchini boats (made then once, two weeks ago & the hubby loved them so much that he decided to cook them for the guys at work- he is a fireman)
thanks so much for sharing with it, I really appreciate it.
Many blessings,
jess
Vanilla is simply a blank slate on which should be added lots and lots of good dark CHOCOLATE! My husband and I frequently disagree on this one. But in my book there’s nothing better than Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie. Not a speck of anything but chocolate.
Chocolate!!! Dark Chocolate!!! Or German Milk Chocolate!!! Chocolate is a proper noun isn’t it?
Chocolate, preferably dark, even better if the packaging is printed in a foreign language. Who ever sat down and slowly savored a small square of…vanilla?
Vanilla. Chocolate contains caffeine and when I am nursing, chocolate is a no-no. I remember once I ate some of Aunt Sheila’s ding-dong cake and Ellee was up for 36 hours straight. Sigh. Since I am not nursing at the moment, I sneak in a little chocolate, but the rest of the time, vanilla is it!
Not to sound awkward, per se, but it completely depends on the time of the month. Usually vanilla, but about once a month (or all nine while I’m pregnant) it’s definitely chocolate!
Chocolate…mmmmm chocolate. Dark of course.
Definitely. Love. Vanilla. More. Than. Chocolate!
chocolate, oh definitely chocolate. i like chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips and fudge sauce on it, and a side of chocolate milkshake. i choose chocolate.
CHOCOLATE!!! By the way I am preparing to make your homemade soft pretzels. I have been wanting to try them.
Chocolate!!
Most of the time it is chocolate – a little every day if possible, BUT if I can get some really good quality vanilla ice cream – you know the kind that is a creamy colour not white – then I would have vanilla ice cream (but only if it’s the good stuff). Otherwise, it’s chocolate and dark chocolate not milk chocolate – too sweet.
Honestly, I go back and forth. My husband, a true chocolate lover, cannot understand!
Chocolate for sure…can’t do without that chocolate. If all we have is vanilla, it gets chocolate syrup! :)
CHOCOLATE! Sorry about your server!
CHOCOLATE!!!!
It depends on what I’m eating. I do enjoy chocolate, but sometimes there’s nothing better than vanilla ice cream!
I would have to say chocolate as well. Even though I do not like most chocolate ice creams. So ice cream or a shake would have to be vanilla.
Like you even need to ask…
Chocolate, but vanilla is a close second place!!
Chocolate!!!!
Chocolate please!!
Vanilla, especially vanilla bean. Yum!
Chocolate. No doubt.
Chocolate. I love plain milk chocolate bars. I used to not even eat vanilla ice cream/milkshakes without chocolate when I was younger – I’m just NOW getting over that!
I usually go for Strawberry, but of the two I will go with Vanilla.
I hope everything runs smoother soon.
Chocolate. Vanilla’s like kissing your sister.
Chocolate. Always chocolate.
Chocolate, definitively !
It is so good for the brain ! LOL !
VANILLA????????? ICK. Just sayin’ :)
Chocolate… White Chocolate to be exact!
always…ALWAYS.. CHOCOLATE!!!
I have two hands =)
One for dark chocolate; the other for Breyer’s vanilla ice cream.
Chocolate!!
Both :)
Vanilla!! (Unless caramel was an option!!)
Uhm… Chocolate…. Is there anything else?
