Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year.
This year, our family enjoyed putting together some little goodies for several people in our disabled and low income community who have become our friends. It isn’t much, but hopefully it showed the love of Christ. I hope these dear ones know how special they are and how much they’ve come to mean to me.
Can you tell those candy canes are supposed to form a heart?!
Our prayer as of late is that God will help us to:
- See people through His eyes
- Learn how to truly love people
You wouldn’t think either of those would be difficult, but we most definitely need God’s help in these simple areas. He is faithful. It’s been amazing how He’s opened our eyes and hearts and helped us learn to love better. It’s been amazing who we “see” at church and in the community when we ask God to “help us see who you need us to see today.” Truly amazing. I encourage you to try it.

I love our family’s Christmas Eve traditions! We have a special meal, go downtown to a dessert restaurant for a special dessert, them come home and read the Christmas story from Luke 2 aloud before everyone heads off to bed!
Every year we go look at lights and then come home for cider or hot cocoa. Such a fun outing!
I love our church’s candlelight service the Wednesday before Christmas (just two days away!).
I bought some of those same chocolate bars from Aldi to put in teacher gifts! Great idea!

I love when family gets together. We eat and eat and watch movies and just enjoy each others company.
Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I LOVE the music. It goes on Nov. 1st and plays through for 2 months almost non-stop. LOVE it!!
We have a lot of fun traditions. But one I really enjoyed this year was delivering candy to our neighbors. This year it was bags of M&Ms, and we delivered 14 bags. We are trying really hard to get to know our neighbors but it is not the friendliest of regions of the country.
