My husband and I felt very convicted after our local Christian radio station made us aware of One Girl ministry. Convicted to pray. Convicted to act.
Brace yourself, but please read here about the sex trafficking going in Nepal. More than 10,000 young girls each year are taken across the border into Indian brothels where they are forced, usually within 24 hours of arrival, to become prostitutes. They are welcomed into the country by being gang raped and beaten.
Our hearts hurt…our stomachs feel sick after hearing about these innocent girls whose lives are forever changed.
Because our local Christian radio station made us aware of this and urged us all to become involved, we decided to join in to help. When you realize that you can do something to help these girls who are so far away, hope replaces despair. There is something we can do.
There is a place of refuge called Princess Home which is run by a pastor and his wife. Here, women who have experienced the abuse of sex industry find hope. They are provided with counselling, job training, Bible training…a new start!
By donating just $11, we could make a difference. The money will aid in the ministry at Princess Home. We will also be sent a bracelet, made by the girls at Princess Home. We can wear the bracelet as a reminder to pray for these girls and for this ministry.
We decided to buy 6 of these bracelets…one for each member of our family. The idea of this becoming a family ministry sounded just right to us. We explained to our boys (with careful discretion of course) how girls are being stolen and abused and that we can wear bracelets to remind us to pray for God’s protection over them. The boys are excited about this opportunity and so are we.
I’d like to urge you, if you feel called, to consider taking part in this ministry too. You can sign up to pray for one girl here. And please know that I would never participate in or encourage you to participate in a ministry that was a scam. You can trust the people at Tiny Hands International.
Today, I’m thankful that we were made aware of this ministry. I’m thankful that we were able to help. I’m thankful that this is a ministry that we can take part in as a family. I’m thankful that prayer is powerful.

Thank you for sharing. I have been doing a lot of reading on this topic, and while it’s extremely difficult to read about, I hope shedding light on it brings help to these children.

Another organization that helps these girls is the Princess Project. I read about it on Pioneer Woman a couple months ago. When the girls escape or are released from slavery, they don’t have any money or skills to get jobs, and often their families won’t take them back so their only option is living on the street. The Princess Project teaches the girls to make BEAUTIFUL pajama pants from sari fabrics and all of the proceeds from their sales go to setting up savings accounts for the girls and getting them started on a new life.
I’ve ordered one pair already, and I plan to order more as Christmas gifts for the women in my life.

What an important ministry. Young girls’ loves are so important – as are every person’s – and through prayer and action we can make them better. God is smiling at your work and at all of our prayers…
This has been on my heart for a long time, though i have felt helpless to the situation. I have also heard yesterday of a program called Little hands. There is not a day that goes by that i don’t think of these girls and boys who are forced to do horrible things and have their innocence stolen. My heart is heavy as i pray daily for these children and women.

This is something I feel very passionate about. This is just one of the many forms of modern day slavery. So many people are unaware of what’s going on all around us! Did you know most of our cocoa beans are harvested by child slaves? We CAN help by being smart consumers and buying fair-trade! God commands us numerous times throughout the Bible to seek justice and help the oppressed! Thanks for making this issue known to more people!
I absolutely love, not only that you are getting involved, but that you are getting the boys involved. The chivalry in praying for God’s protection over these girls is just breathtaking to me and I adore that fact that they are excited to do this. Just imagine how aware they might be when they have their own families – wives and daughters – about praying over them. Wow! I want to learn more about this ministry so that I can make my son more aware as well…thank you for letting us know!

This Tuesday I am grateful my son is still alive. We had a scare earlier this evening. Nothing stops your heart faster than an autistic (or any!) child who goes into a pond and doesnt know there is a drop off and evil mud that tries to pull you down.

I was just at a Women’s conference this past week… LIFE changing! One of the speakers was Christine Caine. (AWESOME Woman of God!) One of her passions is human trafficking. She shared a story of meeting a girl involved in HT.
Basically, the girl had said she was placed in a SHIPPING CRATE (picture, furniture crates), w/air bubbles or something. She and about 40 girls were in this ONE crate. As they were being shipped to India (I think), the air bubbles broke, 1/2 of the girls were killed. Once they arrived, they have to swim across this river or something, another 1/2 died, they didn’t know how to swim. So now we have these 10 girls (or so) who were left in this place. Christine went on to say that these girls are ONLY good until they become pregnant. Once they give birth, these BABIES (who were just born) are SOLD to pedophiles, yes at birth, so the babies can fulfill those desires. SICK!
Christine came upon one of these girls, and she started ministering to this child. This girl, shouted out, and said “why didn’t you come sooner??????” It broke my heart, into a million pieces. The world is dying out there, as we are going on w/our lives, thinking someone else will minister to them. It’s time for us to wake up!
