Hot Cocoa Punch

It’s our 2024 Christmas Brunch: Hot Cocoa Punch Recipe!

What’s special about Hot Cocoa Punch? EVERYTHING.

The mug, the taste, the fun treat. We made this for our kids last week, because of course we had to taste test all of our Christmas Brunch recipes before we shared them with you. What did they think?

Hot Cocoa Punch is a perfectly fun treat, and tastes wonderful after enjoying our Holiday Spice Muffins and Christmas Casserole.

Step 1: Make Hot Cocoa

Make it with a packet. Make it from scratch. Do whatever works for you. At our house we do either/or depending on our ability of the day. But our favorite Hot Cocoa is this and it’s worth taking a few extra minutes to make a batch.

Step 2: Pull out the vanilla ice cream

Again, buy it at the store or make it from scratch. If you can make Vanilla Ice Cream like this – WOW is it good! (Maybe you should ask for a Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker for Christmas!)

Step 3: Put your punch together

Scoop Ice Cream into Mugs. Then pour in some hot cocoa. Suddenly you’ve got a creamy, frothy mug of delicious Hot Cocoa Punch!

This is easy, fun, and can be made with the finest of ingredients or with a packet and a spoon!

Simple Santa Brownies (Grain Free or Regular!)

I found this idea for Simple Santa Brownies and decided that surely I could make a healthier version of them. I was not wrong. I was very right. And come to find out, Santa is very, very delicious.

Now obviously, you can take this idea and go with it no matter if you’re using a boxed brownie mix or a healthier brownie recipe. But I loved the idea of using my Super Moist Flourless Brownie Muffin recipe for this! It turned out fabulously.

Finding good strawberries this time of year is a little bit tricky, I realize. But for the sake of creating these awesome treats, I think it’s worth your purchase.

It’s probably also worth noting that if I can make these, anyone can make these. I’m no decorator. I rarely try to make cute food because I know I’m not good at it. But whipped cream and strawberries win the prize on these. Who knew real food could be used to decorate a fun Christmas treat!

I’ll repost my flourless brownie recipe for you here. But if you want my full sugar, full flour recipe, you’ll find it here!

Serves: 9
Ingredients
  • 1½ cups (12-ounces) Peanut Butter or Almond Butter
  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • For Santas:
  • 9 strawberries, washed and with greens removed
  • 1½ cups heavy whipping cream
  • 5 drops liquid stevia or 1 Tablespoon sugar
Instructions
  1. Stir all ingredients together until well combined.
  2. Scoop batter into 9 paper-lined muffins cups.
  3. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 12-15 minutes. (Remove them from the oven when they are just slightly underdone so they come out moist!)
  4. Whip cream and stevia or sugar until stiff peaks form.
  5. Once brownie muffins have cooled, top them with whipped cream and a strawberry.
  6. Top the strawberry with a "snowball" of whipped cream.

The Simplest Chocolate Peanut Clusters

Truly these Chocolate Peanut Clusters can’t get any easier.

I make some with semi-sweet chocolate and some with white chocolate and when it’s all said and done, I’ve spent about 10 total minutes making amazing Christmas treats.

You don’t have to scoop these treats into muffin cups, but they sure do a lot to dress up the plate, don’t you think? (Read more ideas here for ways to serve festive food without using food coloring.)

The effort it takes to make these Chocolate Peanut Clusters involves pouring chocolate chips into a saucepan with peanuts, then stirring them both together until they melt. Two-ish minutes later your mission has been accomplished. Scoop the melty mixture into muffin-lined cups. Refrigerate. Serve or package up to give as gifts.

If only all of our Christmas preparations would be this easy!

If you’re into more time consuming treats (ha!), try these Truffles. I prefer simpler recipes, but of course the effort it worth the prize when you make truffles. They also make amazing Christmas gifts!

Also great for gift giving: Homemade Peppernuts. My grandma always made these at Christmastime!
