Gratituesday: So Far, So Good

I always intend to take lots of pictures. I always think it will be fun to document the entire week with its mountains of food, grateful soccer girls, helpful boys, dirty dishes – the whole thing.

But year after year, as I’m feeding the YC ladies soccer team, the pictures never happen. Occasionally I have half a brain and snap a shot, but generally I’m too busy to remember to get out the camera.

So far, I’ve taken exactly one picture. (Brace yourself for the excitement.)  I made eight loaves of Honey Whole Wheat Bread and loaded them (sort of) into my cake container to transport to the church building where we’ve been serving the meals.

The meals have gone wonderfully so far and the YC ladies are so sweet and appreciative. It’s been great to grab hugs from returning students and to get acquainted with new students. I am so thankful that our family has this opportunity to serve the team this way and that Matt is able to help coach. We love being a part of York College (our Alma mater) and being a part of these girls’ lives!

I am sure that tomorrow, I will be grateful for something as well, but for today, Monday, I am grateful for the help of my three year old making chocolate chip cookies tonight! ;)

I have a hard time remembering to take pictures and always feel like I am missing the key moments. What a blessing you are to be making food for the YC ladies – those honey bread loaves look delicious! Thanks for hosting this carnival! I always enjoy sharing recipes together. This week, I shared my recipe for Shepherd’s Pie, more of a Fall/Winter dish, but our weather has been so cool in the evenings lately, I’m already thinking about Fall. Have a blessed week! Love in Christ, Kelly

I wrote a post about my son, whom I am very grateful for. The Lord has been very good. Children are definitely a gift from God! Enjoy them while they are young because they grow up very quickly!

Today I am thankful for the lives of my children. They truly are blessings. A friend lost her 6month old son 8 days ago to a horrible accident. I pray she finds peace and comfort knowing he is with God.

I love reading each year about your adventure with the girls soccer team. These are memories to treasure. Your bread looks yummy. Laura, you are a GREAT example of the Proverbs 31 woman. God is SO pleased with you.

That’s too funny – my graituesday post today is about pictures and formally documenting a 4 generation vacation :) It was pricey but so worth it to have these pictures in the end.

You do such great work, Laura! I don’t get enough pictures in, but usually because I don’t have a camera yet, lol. Soon enough though. My post today is about my son, although the way I’ve linked it up some may find my devotional first instead of it. Sorry about that!

Thanks for blessing me yesterday by sending me the discount on the curriculum. It was totally unexpected and totally appreciated. Although you’ll probably see it again, there are a few other books in your store that I want to purchase:)

I’ve enjoyed reading your posts and others on Gratituesday, but this is my first time linking up, so I made a little mistake. I should’ve written the title of my post instead of my name. No one will have any idea what “Lauren” is about! It should’ve been “A Symbol of Her Faith” – oh well!

No worries! I did the same thing on my first run with the linky. Even now I just
have the name of my blog and not necessarily the name of the post. :)

This past Sunday we went to church, got home and did some stuff (like my first canning, etc…) and I’ll just say that I did not have my finest moments :(. Then in the afternoon Larry and I went to visit some close friends, the husband who is on hospice care at home and has only weeks, maybe days, to live. On the way home I just sat there and thanked God and told Larry how sorry I was for arguing about the stupidest stuff and not appreciated him the way I should. I am so thankful to have a husband who is alive, healthy, and faithful!

Your bread looks lovely. It is making me want to go make some now. But I can’t because I am doing something else I am thankful for! Sewing right now, bread later. Thanks Laura for an awesome blog and great encouragement and recipes!
