My morning routine:
1. Spend time in the Word (see below)
2. Get myself ready for the day.
3. Feed Daddy and kids. (Justus made breakfast today! French Toast!) Read Bible to the kids while we eat.
4. Clean Kitchen/Kids pick up 10 toys each
5. Start laundry
6. School time begins!
Beginning our day in the word, as Crystal at Biblical Womanhood encourages…what better way to make our home a haven.
I recently read John 14, which begins with Jesus’ words of comfort:
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”
And of course, Jesus goes on to explain that HE is the way, the truth and the life…the way to the Father.
So as we go about our tasks today (and tomorrow…) be encouraged by these words of Jesus! He is working to make our home a haven also. He is preparing a place for us, in His Father’s house. You know, the house with many roooms?! Just for us!!
Today, as we work to make our homes a haven, let’s do it remembering that our Father is doing the same for us.
Remembering that Jesus is getting my room ready gives me energy and a smile as I create a haven for my family.
God bless you today as you create a haven for your family!
P.S. On my dinner menu for tonight:
Lamb Chops, Baked Potatoes, Green Beans

I agree — time in the Word is absolutely essential to begin the day. Just like skipping breakfast makes me feel weak and dizzy, skipping spiritual food makes me spiritually weak and susceptible. :)
Thanks for sharing.
