Ever wonder if I really follow the menu plans I share each Sunday? This week is your chance to find out! Every day (as much as possible) through Saturday, I will take pictures of my kitchen work and of our meals and share them with you here.

I’ll warn you right now – wait – no I won’t. You’ll just have to keep visiting every day to find out more about my days and to see what we’re really eating. :)

In the meantime, here’s our “menu plan”. This may look clean and organized – but how does it really look at our house from day to day? Hmmmm…

I’m giggling as I read your post since I, too, post a meal plan every week and we never stick to it 100%. Today, for example, we ended up working at my husband’s office on a project that took much longer than we thought so we got home late and are having leftovers instead of the beef and lentil tacos I planned. But, when does life ever work out quite like it’s planned?

I LOVE this new idea of posting your daily progress, this is going to be so fun to follow along with you! I copied down your Popcorn Chicken recipe, now I am off to find the Chocolate Chip cookie recipe Jacqueline talks about. I have tried making homemade cookies for 3 weeks in a row now, all have been utter fails so I am still on the hunt.

I did make a menu plan, and I did stick to it! One day down, 6 to go ;). Part of dinner last night was your popcorn chicken! Thanks for the healthy recipe! My husband and boys loved it!

I am so looking forward to this!! I have four boys, still very young, so I’m interested to see the amounts you cook for four growing “big boys” :)

Homemade french fries, Yum! Glad to hear I’m not the only one who strays from their menu plans on occasion. Sunday night ended up being more homemade pizza (using TJ’s whole wheat Naan) as we had leftovers from my daughter’s birthday party on Saturday.

We are having my husbands family over this Saturday to celebrate Jan/feb birthdays and I’m planning a Greek themed menu. Dinner is lemon roasted chicken with arugula salad and dilled whole wheat orzo. Appetizers are homemade whole wheat pita chips and raw veggies with humus, bacon wrapped water chestnuts (not Greek, but so yummy!) and poplettes (fried morsels of potato and feta cheese with dill and lemon). Hopefully the poplettes taste as good as they sound. Plus, chocolate cake with dark chocolate frosting garnished with dye free, corn syrup free maraschino cherries and served with homemade vanilla ice cream. I’m always excited to serve a meal to company that is affordable and doesn’t compromise my principals (homemade, whole wheat, humanely raised meat and eggs, mostly organic, etc).

How do you handle snacks? Do you have plan/set time for that? I find that some of mine will just snack on fruit or cheese sticks all day, especially when they don’t like the meal. I
