I rarely share deals here anymore. (Instead I send out special emails about deals like this to people who’ve joined specific lists like our Heavenly Homemakers Savings Club. It’s free! Join here.)

Today I’m making an exception because this is one deal everyone needs to hear about!

Tropical Traditions is offering free shipping this weekend PLUS 50% off Palm Shortening! This is a rare double deal, and offers incredible savings.

Therefore, I just ordered three gallon-sized buckets of Palm Shortening. Yup. I decided to take advantage because I don’t know when this deal will be offered again.

The Palm Shortening is only on sale through Sunday, December 18. Use the code 191612 at checkout for free shipping to apply.

I use Palm Shortening for pie crusts, to fry chicken or French fries, and to make this super creamy peanut butter. I love Palm Shortening!!! I’m excited to take advantage of this deal that happens about once each year.

Grab your Palm Shortening here!

The links I used above are my referral links. That means if you made a purchase through the links, I will receive a referral certificate as a “thank you.” It also means you’ll receive a free copy of a great Virgin Coconut Oil Cookbook!

I’m curious if you re-use your palm shortening for things like fries? Thanks for sharing this. I’m going to try it. :)

Yes, I have a nice Fryer and definitely reuse the oil in that many times before starting over. :)

I’ve been buying spectrum brand, and this sale price is almost exactly what I would pay for spectrum were I to buy a gallon. Do you see an advantage to using tropical traditions? Just trying to decide if I should buy this or stick with what I’m using! Thanks!

I think spectrum brand is great! But anytime I can get something from Tropical Traditions, I do. Their products are the best of the best of any brands of oils I’ve found. I really appreciate the effort they put into finding high quality products. Overall, their prices are higher because of their great quality, which makes this sale price/free shipping so incredible!

I’m so sad. I just ordered palm shortening from Tropical Traditions yesterday and paid shipping! At least it was 50% off.

This will be my first time trying palm shortening but I’ve been waiting for a good sale so I grabbed at it today. Thanks for sharing it!

I was ordering the palm shortening and noticed that it does not say “organic” on the tropical tradition website. The picture you show that you bought says “organic” palm shortening. Is it organic ? Am I ordering the right one? Thank you for helping me with this. I love all that you share.
    Thanks, Joyce

I’m confused about this too! I know it used to be certified organic, and I can’t find any difference on the product description that leads me to believe that anything has changed regarding the quality of the oil. I feel very confident about this being the purest of the pure, so I ordered without hesitation. But I do plan to email them to get a little more info on why the bucket no longer has an organic label!

I was wondering about the absence of the organic label as well, so I emailed them. This is the response I received from them:

        Thanks for your email.

Rest assured. Our Palm Shortening is still organic. These products do not carry the USDA organic certification logo, but they do carry the Healthy Traditions’ “Traditionally Produced” label. This label mets or exceeds USDA certification because, while the organic certification currently allows for the presence of Glyphosate, our Traditionally Produced label does not. We have a ZERO tolerance for GMOs and Glyphosate and if any are found, we do not sell that product. We do not use any pesticides or herbicides in any of our products.

Please feel free to read more about our testing and standards here: http://healthytraditions.com/traditionally-produced/ and http://healthytraditions.com/glyphosate-tested/

So, our standards are HIGHER than USDA standards!

Please let me know if you have any more questions.

(Guess that settled it for me!)

Thank you! My bucket is getting dangerously low, and I was just wishing they had a good sale soon! I use palm shortening in my bread baking, so I definitely cannot run out!
