I recently stripped the wallpaper in my bathroom and painted it.
(BTW, one of the days I was working, a friend of ours stopped by to pick something up. Later I was telling his wife, “Your husband stopped by while I was stripping in the bathroom…” Perhaps I should have used a better choice of words?!)
Anyway, I’m all done stripping (thankfully!) and the painting is done (yea!) and it looks fresh and nice. But, I’m not sure what to do next.
Hey, give me a kitchen and a few ingredients and I’ll whip you up something yummy and great. Give me a bare wall in a bathroom, and I’m at a loss. Not my gift.
So, here it is:
Any wonderful ideas for what I should have on the wall in there? What about the cute shelf up high?
Let me rephrase the question…Any wonderful, inexpensive, easy, practically free, not hard to do ideas for what I should have on the wall and on the shelf?
Thanks!

Maybe you could find a pretty calendar (they might even be on clearance now!) and some cheap frames (Dollar Tree is a great source) to create quick and easy wall decor? We’ve done this and it’s a great, yet inexpensive way to decorate a space, even if it’s just until you decide what you really want. As for the shelf, what about a collection of colored glass? Sometimes you can find cobalt glass or other pieces of colored glass at thrift stores or yard/estate sales. Another idea for the tops of your cupboards is to scope out the clearnce floral section of craft stores and Walmart. Last year I bought a pretty silk hydrengea arrangement at Michaels for, I think, 29 cents! It was originally 9.99. I look forward to comingt back and reading others’ suggestions :-) Good luck!

Thanks so much for stopping by and helping me with your great recipe for whole wheat bread! I am excited!
I have thought of a couple of things for your bathroom. You could buy some baseboard material and frame out your mirror over the sink or even buy a large oval frame at a discount store, spray paint/or stain to match decor and the take your mirror to a glass shop and have them cut it down to fit the frame. If that is not feasible, try putting a floral swag up above the mirror. If you have a Hobby Lobby nearby they have beautiful things and if you keep an eye out they run sales at 50 % off frequently. I think with the pretty little lamps on either side of the mirror and your top shelves the place screams victorian cottage. You can also find the neatest frames and shadow boxes at Dollar Tree.
For above the cabinets I would look for cobalt glassware, baskets, or even greenery would be beautiful.
Have a blessed day!

Do you collect anything? Old hard-cover books, tins, etc.? You could do a really cute collage up top with a mixture of yard-sale/thrift store finds, and likely even things you have around the house. An ivy or some mini-lights or both would look nice. On the walls, what about black and white or sepia prints of some favourite snapshots? A favourite Scripture verse hand-written and framed? We have an old window frame that we want to put a picture in, and then a screen over to make it look like we’re looking outdoors at a spectacular view.

I don’t know if this is your style or not- but I’ve loved it. Our house is fairly nic-nac free due to the kids, but I had a great collections of things from places we had traveled on missions trips or things given to us by missionaries. I turned our 1/2 bath into a place to display all these items. The walls are covered with pictures in black frames from all over the world and a put a small glass shelf by the sink to display little items. This way everyone (who uses the bathroom) can enjoy them. It’s eclectic. And most of all it reminds me to pray for others around the world. I love adding to our collection.
Another friend of mine decorated her bathroom with pictures and postcards from family vacations spots. I like that idea, too.
have fun!!

I think bathrooms are a great place to run with a theme. With the blue curtains in your bathroom how about an ocean theme? Do you have a Home Goods store nearby? They have fabulous stuff. And of course Target is incredible with adorable, inexpensive bathroon decor.

My MIL has stenciled a Bible verse at the top on one wall of her bathroom. I think it looks great and is definitely frugal!
Another idea (if it fits) is to put some of those pretty cookie tins (thrift stores usually have them super cheap) in between the rails of the up-high shelf, and use it for storage.
Be sure to post pictures when you decide what to do!
Thanks for visiting my blog and introducing yourself! :)

I had a very similar bathroom that we had to “strip”. A new mirror is a must. I got mine at Garden Ridge on sale. Wal Mart has some great ones. We painted a pretty blue and white. My washer and dryer are in my bathroom too!! Also, my hot water heater is in there too and I put up a screen to cover it. We put up wanes (sp) coating on the bottom portion.
Here is the link to my bathroom and I need to post some updated pics of all that I have been working on.

What a nice big bathroom! And how convenient to have the washer/dryer close by. I really don’t have any decorating ideas other than to say, “Less is more.” I like the blank walls and uncluttered shelves. :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I’ve enjoyed reading yours and already bookmarked it so I can keep up with your boys. Never a dull moment! LOL

Instead of adding things to the shelves, I would try to change out the mirror. Look for one with a nice frame. You can find inexpensive ones. Replace the light fixtures with something that goes with the mirror. That one change will make a huge impact.

A vase with silk flowers.
Pretty decorative boxes/glasses etc…
A silver tray with perfume bottles.

A couple inexpensive prints.
Wood trim at the bottom of the beige paint.
Hope some of these help.

In the hall bathroom, known as ‘the kids bathroom’, I decided to hang up pictures of the kids. They were taking a bath, and I was able to get a good shot of each of them with suds in their hair, looking at the camera, with goofy faces! I’ve got all four pictures lined up and framed, and I get sooo many compliments on them!
