Gratituesday – a Guest Post

FYI – this is a GUEST POST…  Laura is SUPER BUSY this week, so I volunteered to write her Gratituesday post. It was selfish on my part, because I have been wanting a chance to gush a little about my best friend, and what better place than ON Laura’s blog…bear with me! -Char

gratituesdayspring

So, I got an email the other day reminding me that it’s time to renew the Heavenly Homemakers domain name. (I keep up with some of the “technical” aspects of the site). I shook my head a bit, because it’s hard to believe that another year has come and gone.

In fact, it’s been almost exactly 2 years since the day Laura and I were on the phone and the seed was planted that became an idea that eventually turned into the Heavenly Homemakers website/blog.

Of course, when she and I first started talking, there was no name yet… just a small idea that took shape pretty quickly and a gut feeling that this was something Laura could do. And not just something she COULD do… but something she NEEDED to do.

It’s fun to think back a bit… to all the “what if’s, maybe you could…, do you think THIS might work…” conversations. (And quite frankly, we still have these types of conversations regularly).

I often tell Laura that in all my years working with websites and clients and friends and churches – this Heavenly Homemakers website has been the most successful.

There are some days that it simply blows my mind.

The amount of e-books Laura has written in two years… the encouragement and advice she offers regularly… the passion with which she cares for this website and her ministry…not to mention how stinkin’ FUNNY she is.

It’s astounding to me when I think about the far reaching effects that this blog is having (you only have to check the stats or get a peek at Laura’s email in-box to know she is making a difference in hundreds… no, thousands… of lives).

And of course, the truth is that even though this Heavenly Homemakers idea was a GOOD idea… God is who turned it into a GREAT one. GOD knew that out of those first conversations between two friends… and then the conversations between Matt and Laura… and of course the conversations between all of us and HIM… that HE could make this “website thing” something fantastic.

And He so has…

He has taken Laura’s knowledge, passion, love and concern, her skills and her talents, and He has turned it all into this fabulous gift that IS Heavenly Homemakers.

And for that… I am so very, very thankful.

What are YOU thankful for today? Won’t you share it with everyone?

    for this blog.
Laura has made healthy recipes that are easy for me to implement in my busy schedule. For awhile I gave up on “good cooking” because I was feeling overwhelmed. I am a believer in Nourishig tradtions the whole weston price movement, but I couldn’t seem to incorporate much into our lives. Finding this blog has helped me to make recipes that everyone likes NOT kimichi and gingered carrots ha!

I thanked her last week explaining that it was a God Send…
and I ordered SEVERAL e-books 2 weeks ago and I have them printed and put into page protectors and I have used several recipes already….Everyone I talk to knows about this website now and my teen daughter told me yesterday I am addicted….well, of all the things out there to be addicted to???? I’d say meal planning and preparing whole foods for my family is a pretty good one :)
OH! and also..in the beginning of the Funky kitchen e-book (which my kitchen has come a lONG way since reading the book) Grandma is my INSPIRATION! I tell EVERYONE about her :)
Thank you Char for your post today and I am so glad you two did more than just “talk” about your idea..GOd Bless You All :)
(one more thing..I made my first batch of tortillas last night and I have another batch waiting in the fridge for tacos tonight…and I do have 6 children….if I can do it…ANYONE can ;p)

I have tried many of these recipes and am taking baby steps to make our home healthy. I LOVE this site and visit it daily. I am just curious, can you share how many visitors you get and how many emails are in your inbox from this site. Congratulations on the success, you are an inspiring mom to all of us who want to do better!

Thanks for your encouragement about my site! I average around 3300 visitors a day at this point, plus have close to 1000 subscribers who read via email or a reader.

My inbox hovers around 100 or more each day. Not that I receive that many emails a day (I haven’t kept track specifically each day). That’s just the number it usually is at the end of the day after I’ve tried to reply to as many as I can. Oh so behind… :)

This generously proportioned and laid-again option is advertised as an intermediate to
a sophisticated stage venture, although bold learners may in all probability get it accomplished,
as properly. A traditional kind of Adirondack can be crafted with complex angles
and curves, but since we’re specializing in easy DIY Adirondack chair plan, so
designing and carpeting aspect is on basic stage. However, you’ll be able to build cheap Adirondack chairs
by your self following a DIY plan. Build a superb beautifying pair of Adirondack chair
set by following this easier diy adirondack chair home depot thought.
This is the right Adirondack lounge chair set you
can build for relaxation in your backyard. It allows you’ve gotten a set
of templates to switch the exact shapes to the
wooden without having to draw and measure the curves yourself.
The plan is designed to construct a conventional deck chair; you only want a number of items of wooden and important tools to
    get it completed.
