I know it sounds silly, but this week I’m very thankful for the gift of baking.
This is such a fun time of year to stir together yummy baked goods and casseroles. I spent hours today in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes to share and I loved every minute of it! I know not everyone enjoys baking as much as I do, but wow is it a fun activity for me.
I’m thankful for my houseful of men who love to eat. I’m thankful for the blessing of a pantry full of delicious ingredients. I’m thankful for cooler weather, cinnamon, comfort, and well…butter. What can I say? :)
Just wait till I share this Oatmeal Raspberry Bar recipe I tried today!

Oh I LOVE fall and the opportunity to bake… plus all the extra events and get togethers…. YUM! There is just something about warming up your home and inviting someone in with the smell of fresh baked goodness floating around. :) Thank you for this simple reminder.
I am grateful that I was friends with my Father-in-law who passed away 10 days ago. We had a great relationship and often talked at length about any subject. Most of the family and his friends viewed him as a man of few words and a quiet bystander but I knew him differently and I am thankful for that. Right now there is a big hole in my heart but I am thankful for having known him well enough to miss him.
I made up the Quick Mix and mixed up 3 recipes to put into my freezer. We have two baggies of Quick Mix measured out and ready to make (when I have more milk and the need). : ) One of my girls that makes meals was excited. Excited enough to change the menu made. : )
YUM!!! Will be thankful for this new recipe!!!
I too am thankful for this time of year. I know my kids (and hubby) sure love it once it cools down enough for me to turn on the oven and start baking :) I’m also thankful that they love to help me in the kitchen. I’m so happy that I can pass down the love of cooking, baking, and canning to my children, like it was passed down to me by both my Grandmas and my mom!
Oatmeal Raspberry bars? Oh yes, I can’t wait!
Oh, I love fall. The smell of pumpkin-anything baking. Cinnamon. Cozying up with the ones you love. Ahhhh……so grateful!
I am grateful The Lord is healing my daughter, and our relationship, day by day. It has been a long haul and is not over yet. I am so very grateful He continues to grant me new mercies each and every morning. He is so gracious and patient.
Thank you Martha for sharing. Until my last breath I will hope for a miracle for my mom and I. I know that faith heals so many wounds.
Always thankful for baking…even feel the need to bake when I have a newborn. Baking lifts my spirits for sure!!
Thank you for this. So, good to see all the links and such encouragement! Today I am grateful for my husband [ a soldier] home safe. God Bless
Laura, I want to share my gratitude for God, all fire fighters world wide and for being mother to a child that witness a frightening moment. Sunday night my child and I were coming home with the truck. The back air brakes heated and started on fire. It could of being a disaster. The grass is tinder dry and there could of been a explosion. I thank God that I stopped right in the village where our local fire responders live. They are some of our greatest heroes.
