I love spending time in the Word, and find that no matter what I’m reading, God can teach me something new. But each day, I find that in addition to other passages, I must seek out the red letters – the words of Jesus.
It’s one of the coolest phrases Jesus says – and He says it over and over: “I tell you the truth…” Truth. Yes, Jesus. I want to hear your Truth.
Here’s part of what I read today:
“People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.” Mark 10: 13-16
That’s just one beautiful example, and if you read Jesus’ words in the gospels, you’ll find this phrase over and over. “I tell you the truth…”
We are constantly bombarded with lies – and we often believe them whether we realize it or not. The lies wear us down, cause us to be burdened, make us believe that we must be who we are not, and confuse us to the very core. Let us learn to recognize the lies and combat them with the Truth.
Jesus is truth. Everything He says is truth. And His truth will set us free!

The world tells us that there is NO truth but what we want it to be. I am thankful that there is only one truth and it comes from God, the ultimate truth. Remember “little” Michael? All grown up and in college. He is what I am thankful for today. http://gratituesday.blogspot.com/

I am thankful for the great Christmas memories I have and for the fact that the first Christmas is not just a memory but has more meaning for us than any memory can.

I’m so thankful for the witnessing opportunity presented in the simple act of sending Christmas cards. We try to select a verse that points to the true meaning of Christmas each time we create cards. It’s a small thing, but the Bible talks about the importance of sowing seeds.

What a unique path God has led me down, not just over the past several months, but throughout my life. The one thing that keeps running through my thoughts and in my heart is how He has shown me that no matter what I do, I am called to missions, to help those who are in need and to show them the love of Christ. In my blog, I tell what God has been doing in my life and my heart!
