The past few weeks have brought too much sickness to our family. The six of us passed around influenza, then some got round two of it, then some got the stomach stuff, then once we all started feeling better, I got a respiratory infection. Blech. It goes to show – we can do all we can to stay healthy, but we live in a fallen world. Sickness happens and it is not fun.
I’m still not back to 100% so today after school work was (mostly) completed with the boys, I needed a nap. The sun was beaming outside, and you know me – I love sunshine. It’s the perfect medicine for a sicky, right?
Matt and the boys, who all know how much I love sunshine, got me this gem for Mother’s Day last year:
Today I took it outside and took a delicious rest in the sunshine. I didn’t actually nap, I think because I was enjoying the feel of the warm sun beaming on my face. But it was perfect – just what I needed.
Hope your family has stayed healthy. This winter’s sicknesses have been tough on almost everyone I’ve talked to. Hang in there, everyone!
What are you thankful for this Gratituesday?

We’re getting plenty of sunshine here too! Which is part of my gratituesday: a beautiful week of spring break. Woop! No school. I’m happier than my kids I think. And this morning, we’re heading out to pick strawberries. This morning, I’ve been very grateful for this one verse that was a game-changer in my fears and worry. http://lisaappelo.com/the-way-to-fight-your-fears/

We have been blessed we haven’t had any sickness. However, this the season for allergy. That what hit our house.

I recently found oregano oil for allergies. I started taking it early last fall and for the first time since we moved here, *didn’t* get my bi-yearly face explosion, and its literally the only thing I changed. I just take the cheap stuff in capsules I find in the health store. I’ve started it again this spring and praying it helps for spring allergies too!

Will check into that right now they put her on zyrtec once a day for life. She 13 and i don’t want her on medicine for life yet or actually never.

I hope it helps! I take 1 per day and only got a few itchy eyes last fall. Usually it’s so bad it makes me sick for a month, because the nasal drip destroys my throat and then the congestion moves to my lungs. And I want to claw my eyes out the whole time too. I was sooooo relieved when it helped so much.

Sunshine is the best medicine! When we lived in Vegas I would regularly take my sick days on the lawn chair instead of in the bed. Now here in Northern Iowa I lay near a sunny window. I am thankful for all the sunshine we have recently been blessed with.

I am sorry you all have been sick! I am thankful that my gums are beginning to hurt a little less. I am also thankful for our patient loving midwife who stopped by the other day to check my swelling and ended up testing my urine, blood pressure, and listening to baby too. She really gave of her personal time to do so. I am thankful for her and for everything (outside of my annoyingly swollen feet) being perfect. She even said our baby was in a good position and moving down and that I was beginning to dilate. :)

Cool chair! Yes, I’m excited that winter’s almost through here as well and hopefully that means less sickness for our family, too!

The sickness has hit our home, too. There is nothing like sunshine to make you feel a little better. Hope you all are on the mend.
Blessings.
