I don’t remember the last time I let several days go by without posting anything here. But here it is Monday night, and I haven’t posted since Thursday.
Typically, I feel very bad about this. I want to be sure and post deals over the weekend so that you all know of some of the good prices you can get on healthy food. And I always want to share my menu plan, since many of you count on it as a guide as you prepare for the week. But the busy month of March was beginning to catch up with me. So, for the past few days, I have happily given myself permission to rest.
We’ll be back with our regularly scheduled programing tomorrow…I think. :)
I sure am looking forward to reading about what you are thankful for this week!

Rest is good!
I was beginning to wonder if all was well at your house though. I’m glad the lack of posting was just for rest! :)

I’ll echo the above comment! Yes, rest!! All you need/want to. And love on those boys. We’ll all be here when you get back. (;

Me too! I was praying that you and your family were well and that nothing tragic had happened. Praise God that you are all fine! I’ll be here, too.

You totally deserved the rest. I DID miss your posts, and figured it was a much needed break and a chance to celebrate Easter quietly. I gave you my (unspoken) approval. ha! Glad you are rested and look forward to your blog return. :)

I was praying for your family today and hoping there was nothing wrong. You’d probably be amazed by how many people look forward to your daily posts! Good for you to get some rest!!

Hi Laura-
Glad you are back. I was worried too and checked your site several times over the last few days. Glad to hear that you were taking a much needed break.

Please know you have been missed…but I am so happy to hear you have taken these days to rest. Our lives tend to be so/ too busy. I hope you and your family enjoyed the time!

I’m so grateful that God puts the right people in our lives just when we need them! Three weeks ago was the one of the worst in my life – I found out my boyfriend of three years had been cheating the entire time, my grandfather died two days later and that night someone sent my cell number to the boyfriend of the “other woman” so that I had to be the one to tell this guy about the devastating affair. Nuts!
This week, however, the good news has come pouring in and reminds me that God is so good! I landed my dream job with my biggest and best clients :) they are like family to me and I’m so happy to be spending so much time with them. I also got my first real job offer from someone I haven’t met before (a real client for my company)! My close friends that live near and far have been so supportive throughout this time and I am so grateful for them, my family, my health and my job!

Yes, we all need to “give ourselves permission” to take it down a notch once in awhile. Glad you did!

I am thankful for a great weekend with our youngest daughter. We have 5 children but she was the only one who could come home for Easter and so we had a very laid back, spend time together weekend. We didn’t even cook on Easter but went to a great Mexican restaurant after going to her church and just spent time together. She is about to graduate from college and has several great job prospects so we may never do this again with her. Wow, they grow up too fast!
Echoing other comments in saying that I am glad all is well with you and yours.

So glad you’re well, Laura. I was starting to worry – being a worrier by nature, but I was also praying for you and your family.

I am thankful for a wonderful weekend with family to celebrate God! My husband joined us for church and then we went to my mom’s for a wonderful lunch w/all of our family. I am also thankful for the friends who came to visit last night. Although they live 3 1/2 hrs away, when we get together it’s like we just saw each other last night. The kids all play so nicely, both sets of our twins have such nice manners that it calls for a very relaxing night.
Last but not least I am thankful for my new cookbook that arrived in the mail from you & your family. It’s been a great addition!!!!

Though I sincerely missed your daily posts, I am glad to hear that you’ve taken a scheduled rest break. That in itself is a good lesson for all of us. May you feel rejuvenated physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

I’m so off schedule this week, too. Easter is oh so good, but oh so draining!
