Matt and I love the idea of working together as a team. We don’t get to spend nearly as much time together as we would like to, but as much as possible we like to do “teamwork”. Work gets done so much faster when we work as a team.
Now that our boys are getting older, they join in the teamwork. They’ve always been “helpers” but wow is it cool that they are all old enough to really be a part of our “team” as we serve together.
I’ve really been struck by the blessing of our family working together as a team while we’ve all been feeding the soccer team together this week. Our boys don’t always do what they’re asked to do without complaining (trust me), but for some reason this week they are hopping right in…asking what needs to be done…going from one job to the next without complaint.
I am so proud of them. The work has been so much more fun with all the boys pitching in and being a part of our team!

So great that you had joyful helpers! Helpfulness is definitely a trait I really work to praise and encourage in my children. And besides, work can be fun!

When our four children help me straighten up or even help do deeper cleaning, I tell them it’s a party. We light candles and play music because it makes it more fun. But, like you mention, with the teamwork it just makes it so much easier. I really couldn’t keep up with everything on my own. I have explained to them if we all work 15 minutes, that is saving me over an hour of time. It’s nice when they enjoy helping (not that it’s always the case!).

I love teamwork! Job well done.
YOU know you are doing a good job as a parent when your children are happy to help with a project.
Job well done Laura!

Love to see the teamwork! We had an event at our new church plant on Saturday and it was wonderful to see all of us come together to make it a really great day and impact a lot of lives in the community!

I love when my kiddos help me with special tasks! Just this morning my 3 year old son helped me make pancakes, while my 5 year old daughter made eggs. mmmmmmmm

So much to be thankful for! Sometimes its easier to just “do it myself”, instead of taking time to include the kids. They really can be big helpers when we encourage and include them!

Hmmmm. Seems to me we are missing a boy from these pictures. I would really like to know what that boy was doing!!!!

That’s exactly what my husband said when he looked at this post, “Hey, where was Malachi?” Good question. He did come in and help later but I really don’t know what he was running around doing when I took these pics!

I love it when my 2 year old daughter helps unload the dishwasher! she puts the silverware in the correct spaces. It takes a little bit longer, but she just loves to do it! I’m enjoying this time when she likes to help! :)

my 2 and 3 year old boys love to help me do the laundry! which is great because in the early stages of pregnancy i find it hard, and painful to bend over to unload the dryer, and to pick up the dirty clothes to put in the washer. they are closer anyway. :-)

Let’s see, 34 college-age girls that play their sport. Gee, I wonder why they are so anxious to help. Hormones, maybe? Hehehe!!! I know that you, as their mother, wouldn’t think that there was any ulterior motive, and maybe they don’t even know why they are so happy to help, they just get a glow when they think about helping that many soccer playing girls!

What a blessing to find such an encouraging blog! As an older woman, I love to see young moms that are passionate about being “keepers at home”!
