Gratituesday: The Promise of Spring

If I keep talking about spring coming…will it actually happen?! I thought a new spring Gratituesday banner was in order…since it’s March now and spring will be here somewhere between 10 and 109 days.

What’s the weather like where you live? Are you looking forward to spring like I am?

I love the change of seasons. I’m glad I live in a place where we have a definite four seasons. (Although sometimes it seems like we only have two seasons…Summer and Winter…with two days of fall and two days of spring sandwiched somewhere in between).

Usually by now, I am so sick of winter I can hardly stand to be around myself. Guess what? I haven’t felt that way this winter!

And that’s what I’m grateful for this Gratituesday.

God blessed us this winter with several days of reprieve here and there from the harsh, bitter cold. Some of the days this winter…the SUN has actually been shining. Some of the days, the boys were able to play outside in light jackets. Some of the days, we haven’t even needed to build a fire.

One day this winter (I think it was in January) I actually took a book outside and read on the porch. In January.

Just so you know, that’s really unusual in Nebraska.

So, while I’m very excited that spring is coming soon full of all the green and loveliness that comes with it….I’m so grateful for the coziness we’ve had this winter and that God gave us a little taste of warmer weather here and there to bring relief.

Well, although I’m not feeling the same as you (I was ready for spring 4 weeks ago!), I’m so glad you haven’t felt that way. Your perspective is so encouraging to me.

By the way, I love the new button!

We are so blessed these last few weeks with spectacular weather – unfortunately it means all the beautiful blossoms that are popping out on our peach, almond and apple trees are going to be in for the possibility of a nasty late frost!

But at least we get to see the blossoms! :)

… and I like the new banner!

Great new banner. Also love that you wrote that spring will come in 10 to 109 days. The weather here was rainy today. However we do have like 4 feet of snow on the ground still.

The snow is deep here in the Garden State of New Jersey but I do believe that spring is around the corner! I love the different seasons and their Creator!

Laura, I have a daughter in York this week. You might spy her with a certain young man named Mitch.

Oh, I’m with you Laura. I want all the seasons. Usually I’m sick of the cold by now, but this year, it’s been different enough that winter has been much more bearable. It helps that the snow we received Saturday is already starting to melt away and our high tomorrow is supposed to be in the 70’s. I’ll take it and smile that spring is around the corner!

Oh yes! I’m ready for some spring weather. I live in “sunny” Michigan and I put sunny in quotes because the weather motto here is “shades of grey from October ’till May”. Yep, that’s about right. It’s cold here in winter, bitter cold. Cabin fever sets in around February and come April when the weather finally breaks, we all run outside like crazy people to soak up some rays.

Otherwise, we are blessed with four distinct and glorious seasons. We also love to see our happy birds and squirrels that we feed all winter long. They bring a smile to our faces when they visit.

Spring is on its way here. The dogwoods are dressed in their pink attire and the pear trees are starting to bud. Its been a beautiful emergence.

even though it was below 0 this morning where I live… the promise of spring is exciting me. the sun is shining (which is a sure sign that we’re moving to spring) and there’s a fresh scent in the air :) I love your new spring gratitutesday image — it’s perfect for this time of year.

Here is Western NY it is SO cold this week that I am really ready for spring. Especially since we have begun receiving seed catalogs in the mail! I love the change in seasons but winter just seems to drag on and on. But before we know it spring will be here. We saw a robin today and a skunk yesterday, so we know it is on its way.

Ugh, I wish we had a reprieve from the cold, but in OH that really doesn’t happen much in the winter. I am so happy it is March and we are so much closer to spring, but in reality I know that we have probably another month or two of cold.
