Why yes. I did just invite you to go to the bathroom with me. That’s what girls do, right? They go to the bathroom in pairs?
I’m ever so grateful for your input and thoughts about my blogging schedule (or lack thereof). Gratituesday will remain. But if sometimes I post something else on Tuesdays instead, so be it. And if sometimes I post what I’m grateful for on a Friday, so be it. And if we can all focus on giving thanks to God every single day, especially when we are tempted to grumble – well then God be praised!
So back to my bathroom.
You guys!!!!!! My husband has worked so hard and has done a beautiful job transforming this room. It is finally almost completed. Just a few small-ish details (hang the mirror, etc.) left to call it “finished.”
Before I show you what it looks like, first let me remind you of the before pictures. It may not look “so bad” but trust me – this bathroom was 40,000 years old (or so) and had some – shall we say… issues. Issues, I’m telling you.
So Matt gutted it and started from ground zero.
Then he managed to get the shower installed before we had a houseful (and I do mean house FULL) of teenage boys for an entire weekend.
Then slowly but surely, Matt continued to work for hours over the past months replacing the toilet, installing a fan, installing a light fixture, putting up drywall, tiling the walls and the floor, grouting, painting, and installing a new sink (with silly plumbing issues).
And now LOOOOOOK!!!!!!
I cannot tell you how fun it is to go pee in there, and that’s just the truth.
The room is so pretty, and I just love it! I’m so thankful for my husband’s hard work, and I’m very grateful that it’s ready before we have a houseful of out-of-towners coming for graduation. Phew!
Here’s to one more house renovation (almost) in the books.
Now your turn! Leave a comment to share what you are thankful for this Gratituesday!

The bathroom is beautiful!
I’m so thankful that the Lord provided a mini-bus for our family this past weekend. It met all of our needs, including a working wheelchair lift and a tie down space, but also provided us with many of our wants–like pre-installed seatbelts for each seat, built-in boosters in two seats and very low miles. And all in our budget–it was definitely a perfect blessing and we are so thankful to all fit in a single vehicle once more! God is so good!

I’m sorry Connie that I left my original comment as a reply to your comment–I definitely wasn’t paying attention to what I was doing this morning.

Just lovely. What a big job! Our bathroom is next on my to do list. Your makeover is inspiring.

Beautiful room! Matt did a terrific job. I am grateful that our next bathroom project will be small and that we have an “unofficially adopted” son who will do the work. It is simply removing the large vanity/sink and installing a wall hanging sink that will accommodate a wheelchair.

Nice!

I love it Laura! I am so thankful this week for the warm weather :) Last week was in the 50’s and this week is in the 80’s! It is so beautiful, we have spent most of our days outside :)

I love Gratituesday, especially because it’s in the middle of the week and that’s when I need it.
Today I am so grateful for my husband’s schedule switching from nights to days.

Beautiful!! We have remodeled EVERY room in our home and I know exactly how you feel about your new bathroom. I am so proud of my husband too! Not to mention our pocketbook is proud! :) Congratulations and I love the paint color. Just gorgeous!

Your bathroom is gorgeous! It’s way more fun to pee in a pretty bathroom, isn’t it?! ????
I didn’t get a chance to respond the other day, but I wanted to let you know that I’ve been following your blog for a few years now, and you have been a tremendous blessing to me! I admire your desire to be honest and free with your writing, and to not be tied down to a blogging schedule! God has given you a way with reaching out to women, and I think you should feel free to share whatever he lays on your heart, whenever you want! God bless!

I’m thankful for a mother in law who enjoys going with me to the boys’ doctor appointments. We just got home from the 4 month old’s checkup, and with a 2 yr old son also, it would have been exhausting to take them by myself.
Love your remodeled bathroom! Nice choice of colors.

It’s so gorgeous!! I love it, and I’m so thrilled for you :)

Your bathroom is so pretty! Can I come pee in it? It’s just lost on the boys.
(Just a little bathroom humor)

I am Super grateful that God has led my husband and I (in our sixties) to joyfully downsize from our large home, where we raised five sons and a daughter, to the studio my hubby built on our property. This has freed ‘The Big House’ to be used for the last seven months by one son and his family of five. They found their own home and moved out recently and today ANOTHER son and HIS family of five have moved in long term (3-5 years). Win-Win for us: had to purge 40+ years of stuff, and the grandchildren are hugging-close!

It looks AWESOME!!! I love the cabinet. Curious as to how easy the round shower glass is to clean?

I’m grateful for my day…It was a gloriously beautiful day and I drove about 2 hours to have lunch with a long-time friend from college but was running ahead of schedule and got to stop for a visit with a close friend that moved away from our town. Nothing like time with friends you don’t see often and then time to think and pray while driving by yourself!!
