With the exception of the fact that watching soccer games was a perfect Father’s Day gift for Matt, clearly, this week is not a good time for our family to enjoy the World Cup. After all, we’re leaving on a long trip tomorrow. As it turns out, we’ll miss several games while we’re on the road, plus we have a million things to do before we leave. We have to finish packaging up container after container of vanilla to ship out…
The older boys were at Soul Quest last week, which means there are several loads of laundry to finish up so we can pack. Indeed, we have a huge, long to-do list. World Cup soccer games???
Yeah. We’re making time. It’s ridiculous really, how much our family loves soccer. :) We don’t have cable, so we’re having to go elsewhere to catch games. (The college apartment lobby has been working quite well for us.) It’s been a fun break in between all the work. When possible, I’ve been throwing together quick meals like fruit and tuna salad to take with us and eat while we watch.
Ah, family and futbol. It’s too much fun. Laundry, packing, cleaning, vanilla packaging, mowing, gardening, and all the rest? Eh, we’ll get it done. ;)
What would you like to share about this Gratituesday? What are you thankful for?
We don’t have cable either, but thankfully we can watch for free on the Spanish channel! #bilingualfamilybenefits
I was also going to add — we don’t have cable, but are having fun streaming from a (free) Spanish channel! We don’t speak Spanish, but it sure is fun to enjoy their enthusiasm. :)
(meaning, watching online on our computer — not a TV channel)
So thankful for a daughter with a heart after God! All glory to Him!

We’ve been watching the games here as well (or at least I have been). There’s nothing ridiculous about a strong love for soccer! I can remember in past world cups setting my alarm for something like 3 am daily just to wake up and watch games live that were being played half way around the world. If there was 2 games on at the same time, I would watch one and tape the other on another tv! Glad this year’s World Cup games are during normal waking hours here. :) Nothing wrong with a healthy love for the game! Have a safe trip.
I paid extra for a husband who does not care for sports. I didn’t want to be a football widow! :) I am thankful for my husband and have wrote about him on my gratituesday blog.
I am thankful that my husband is well again and even though he had to go off to Morocco so quickly again with work he has still felt good.

So the question that must be asked, what team is your family supporting? Ps we are in Ontario at the moment and there is an abundance of orange!
Thankful for my daughter changing schools. I am excited she will be getting books(long story but in short the other school only had book for the classroom or they where books they use when I was in school over 20 years ago).
You sound like us, only we’re baseball people. ;-)
Although today, basketball plays a part in my thankfulness ….

Today I am thankful for the opportunity to volunteer as a group leader for our local 4-H group. It was an exhausting day, but I love working with kids!
