Yesterday my aunt, who lives in Arkansas, called. She asked what we were doing. I told her that we were standing at the window watching it snow.
And she said, “Ooooo you’re so LUCKY!”
And I told her (lovingly) that we had been lucky for about FOUR months now and that we were getting a little tired of being so lucky.
(not to mention the fact that I don’t believe in luck)
So, here we are with our lucky snow, that IS beautiful (I have to admit) but I’m getting excited to see a flower again. Phooey, I’ll be excited to see a weed again.
And my sweet big boys cheerfully put on their 20 layers of snow gear and went out to shovel the lucky snow when Daddy asked them to this morning.
And, bless their hearts (and bless mine because I went out to take their pictures), it’s -1 degrees with wind chill.
They came in with very painful hands because it was just SO cold.
But, they came in with good attitudes and I’m so proud of them.
I highly recommend that you get yourself a pair of boys, ages seven and 10. They are great to have around the house.
I just don’t know what I’d do without mine.

Awww, great pics, and what wonderful kiddos you have! I’m definitely looking forward to the days when I have a 7 and 10 year old around the house. I can’t quite imagine in, as that’s four years from now, but I’m looking forward to it all the same. :-)

They are brave! I can’t stand to be out in temps below 50- it’s just too cold for me… (and I live in Colorado!) :-0

Oh, I have a couple of those, and you’re right! They are nice to have around. :)

Love the pictures! My little ones tried to “help” in the snow removal, but tired of it quickly. As soon as I was done with the sidewalks, they went to the shed and pulled out every bike, scooter, wagon, and begged me to pull out the swimming pool! Like you, we are anxious for warmer weather!

Good for you–I am a believer in putting them to work, because that is what God designed them for and they love it! My boys proudly shovel our driveway and mow our lawn, even when they were just 7(with supervision) and 10. This past summer my 12 year old and 9 year old both took turns on mowing the yard. I had sooo many neighbors comment on what great jobs they were doing.
Just across the street a man/women and their 35 year old son live together–yet the mom does the mowing! Then around the corner a man/wife and two teenage sons live their, again I see the mom mowing!
No one puts their boys to work anymore–and then they wonder why they grow up to be sluggish adults.
So keep training them and someday you will have wonderful Godly men for sons. Not moochers :)
