Pumpkin Pecan Pie Squares – In Case You Need Another Dessert for This Weekend

Yeah, I know. There are likely to be plenty of desserts at your table this weekend.

But just in case you wanted one more idea, I wanted to remind you of my Pumpkin Pecan Pie Squares dessert. We love the combination of pumpkin and pecan. And it is fairly simple to put together.

Pumpkin Pecan Pie Squares

Hey, if it makes you feel any better – pumpkin and pecans are really good for you.

Now how can we justify the sugar??? :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

I make it without the topping for an easy pumpkin pie dessert!

I found this recipe a week or so ago and added it to our Thanksgiving menu. I’m going to make it as a pie though; I’m looking forward to it.

Laura, just wondering what kind of pumpkin you use? Do you make your own puree, or use canned? We have ALWAYS been Libby’s pumpkin users (only tried homemade puree once and it was awful – must have done something wrong!) but now I hear that their cans have BPA in the lining – ugh!!! Is anything safe anymore?!

I typically use my own pumpkin puree. :) https://www.heavenlyhomemakers.com/how-to-cook-a-whole-pumpkin-to-make-pumpkin-puree

Have you ever used xylitol or stevia and not sugar?

      I didn’t think of the ‘bulk’/sucanat
you might need for this recipe.

…sniff….sniff….my hubby doesn’t like pecans and I would definitely NOT have a problem eating the whole batch. Maybe I can make it for a church lunch day or the co-op prayer & share room and just take one piece…..or two….
