Learn Your Numbers, Learn to Serve Curriculum Kit ~ Ready NOW! (Download Your Free Sample Lesson)

August 28, 2015 by Laura 5 Comments

This post may contain affiliate links which won’t change your price but will share some commission.

It’s here!! I am so excited to share our brand new early learners curriculum kit with you! It contains 148 pages filled with activities, patterns, printables, instructions, crafts, and games – all with the purpose of teaching your child numbers, counting, Bible stories and teachings, and a heart of service – all at the same time.

What will you find in Learn Your Numbers, Learn to Serve Curriculum Kit?

Let's Learn!

The Academics

This book will offer your child the chance to develop skills in

  • 0-12 Number Recognition
  • 0-12 Number Writing
  • One-to-One Counting (one to one = a number is assigned to an object during the counting process)
  • Pattern Building
  • Sorting
  • Critical Thinking
  • Additional areas beyond numbers and counting (such as colors, shapes, etc.)

Bible Learning and Application

What Does the Bible Say

Why not use the story of Jesus feeding 5,000 people with 5 loaves and 2 fish to teach numbers? How about reading the story of the young 8 year-old King Josiah along with learning the number 8? The 7 days of creation while learning about the number 7? Of course! There’s a Bible story/reading suggestion for every number lesson from 0-12.

Count Your Blessings!

Count Your Blessings!

If we’re learning to count, we may as well start with our blessings! This book provides you with this great opportunity to participate in gratitude with not only your little one(s), but with your entire family.

The Service Training: Be a Blessing!

Be a Blessing!

This is where we bring it all together. Each lesson will offer a variety of suggestions, patterns, printables, recipes, or other fun ways to use number knowledge to serve others. For example, when reading about the 5 loaves of bread Jesus served the people – make 5 mini-loaves of your favorite quick bread to deliver to 5 people. What fun, and what a wonderful opportunity for your family to look at ways to serve others!

This is available in download form only.

There are lessons in the book from numbers 0 through 12 – thirteen complete lessons in all. Do one per week, do one per month, do whatever works best for your child(ren) and family! There’s no right or wrong way. There’s no specific Bible translation used. This is all created with flexibility for your family.

Gratituesday: Printing in Progress…

December 13, 2010 by Laura 7 Comments

This post may contain affiliate links which won’t change your price but will share some commission.

Guess what?! You asked for it…we’ve been working on it…it’s just about to happen!

Ever since we launched our Learn Your Letters, Learn to Serve downloadable curriculum, many of you have asked if/when the kit could be purchased in a hard copy. It’s been several months in coming, but it’s allllllllmost ready! Actually…a few are sitting ready to ship! (Always a funny term to me. What…like we have a boat?)

We’ve researched the best way to go about printing and binding our curriculum and finally settled on investing in a nice printer to create the books ourselves. The printer has been humming for a good part of the afternoon and we’re very happy with the quality of the pages. These 240+ full color page curriculum kits are placed in a nice 3 ring binder, making it easy for you to pull out pages for your family’s use.

learnyourletters

I can’t tell you how exciting this is after so many months of working to figure out what would be the best printable deal and option for you. That’s why this news becomes the Gratituesday post for this week. That, and I’ve done little else but play with our printer tonight so that’s sort of the biggest thing on my mind right now. It is SO exciting! I love how the curriculum kit looks in book form!!!

The Learn Your Letters, Learn to Serve Curriculum Kit in Book Form is ready for Pre-Order NOW! As we have four Books completely finished, the first four of you to order should for sure have yours sent within a couple of days, making it possible to have in your hands before Christmas!! Beyond that, all we can say is that we’ll do our best.  January is a great time to begin using this curriculum so we’ll work hard to get the books out in a timely fashion. (Keep in mind that you can buy a downloadable copy and have it immediately in your possession!)

I’m very thankful to all of you for your patience as we figured all of this out. It sure is nice to see our lovely printer, sitting over there in the corner getting a work-out. Woohoo!

What are you thankful for this Gratituesday? Write about it on your blog, then come link up with us here. If you don’t have a blog, be sure to leave a comment letting us know what you’re grateful for!

If you are linking up a blog post for Gratituesday,
please copy and paste the following sentence into your post! Thanks!

Aa is for Apple Pie

August 13, 2010 by Laura 16 Comments

This post may contain affiliate links which won’t change your price but will share some commission.

Malachi, our kindergartner, is working through parts of Learn Your Letters, Learn to Serve this year. We began this week with the letter Aa and I couldn’t resist taking pictures to share.

Monday morning we all sat around the table brainstorming about people we knew whose name began with the letter Aa…then we talked about what we might like to do for the family we chose. I loved that even our older boys were having fun brainstorming with us.

It was decided that we would make an apple pie for the A_________ family. (Yes, we realize the apple pie recipe isn’t mentioned in the kit, but the point of doing these acts of service is brainstorming as a family and figuring out together what you’d like to do!)

And so, this morning while the big boys were working on math and handwriting, Malachi and I worked together to make a big apple pie. He especially loved cutting little tiny apples out of the pie crust and arranging them (throwing them haphazardly) on top of the pie. It’s pretty rare that Malachi gets alone time with Mommy these days now that school is in full force and the bigger boys’ work is more intense. It was a pretty sweet half hour. :)

Malachi_apple_pie_1

I thought his pie turned out SO cute!!

malachi_apple_pie_2

Tonight after dinner we all loaded up so that Malachi could make his special delivery.

malachi_apple_pie_344

It was a sweet moment. Malachi was so proud.

(I was pretty excited that the pie made it all the way to the door without being dropped. Not that I was worried.)

Now we’re already thinking of what we’ll do for Bb week…hmmm…..

(By the way, you can see a sample of what Lesson Bb looks like here.)

Learn Your Letters, Learn to Serve Curriculum Kit…It’s Finished!! It’s Finished!!!

July 11, 2010 by Laura 35 Comments

This post may contain affiliate links which won’t change your price but will share some commission.

If it’s loud in here, that’s because I’m running around the house with my arms waving in the air screaming:

It’s done, it’s done, it’s done, it’s done, it’s donnnnne!!!!!!!!!

After two years of planning and writing, fixing, changing, editing, dreaming, praying, crying and praying some more…it’s done!!! It’s DONE!!!

I’d like to take a moment to thank all the little people.

Seriously. The little people. My kids.  The ones who were the inspiration for all of this back in the day when they didn’t eat so much food. Back when they were my preschool servants. They are now a little bigger and I can’t thank them enough for eagerly helping me add ideas, create projects and take pictures for the tutorials included in the kit. And also for being patient with me during the past few weeks when they would ask me questions and I would look up from the computer with glassy eyes. God bless you boys for putting up with me.

And of course, you know how much I want to thank my husband. He is the reason this kit is finished, the reason it exists at all. My husband is my rock, the one who points me toward The Rock. He spent hours editing, offering suggestions and in general putting up with a wife who was distracted and talked in her sleep, as I spouted off craft ideas all beginning with the letter Ii. Seriously, this endeavor had me talking in my sleep. About the alphabet. To my husband. And he was kind enough not to make fun of me. I’m keeping him forever.

I also MUST thank Lenetta, who had the grueling task of editing the entire kit when it was formatted all crazy like. She has a gift for making the written word shine on paper and screen. And Char…for all your help in the past few days as we got everything finished up, I thank you.

And now…without further ado…Learn Your Letters, Learn To Serve Complete Curriculum Kit!
