Teach your child to serve…one letter at a time! This 183 page downloadable kit includes thorough lesson plans, games, crafts, recipes, memory verses, Bible story suggestions, vocabulary stimulation and discussion, play, books to read and so much more…all while encouraging service to God!

Each letter you study includes suggestions for service, such as “Take a new Bible to B__________” on Bb week, “Make soup for someone who is sick on Ss week, and “Deliver flowers to F_______________” on Ff week. All our children are older than preschool age, but that doesn’t mean we can’t use this in our home. We try to teach our children how to serve others but sometimes we come up blank. This curriculum is an awesome way to incorporate new ideas. Thank you so much Laura for all your hard work!! I am anxious to get it and start using it with our children. Just have to work it into our already strenuous budget. :)

I love this curriculum! Such a great combination of ideas. I just prined off the “B” trial sample so that we can give it a try with our 2 year old boy! I plan on buying the whole thing if he likes it!

Any chance this will be an actual hard copy book to buy soon? Ebooks don’t work so well for me–old computer/old printer. Costs a bunch to print it off with our printer. Thanks!

Thanks I just ordered it and can’t wait to get started with my 4 year old!

Here is a great cd that would go along well with this, it has a scripture verse spoken by a child and then sung by adults a husband and wife I believe.

Does it matter what order you do the letters in? We are going through Get Ready for the Code and I would like to introduce the letters in the order that they present them. Still trying to decide if I should get your lovely curriculum before the end of the day…..
Also, can you tell us which activities that your older children participate in. I know that my 6yo is going to want to do it all with her little brother and sister but she has her own stuff to do.
    Thanks.

You can do the lessons in any order you like. In fact, although I wrote the book in alphabetical order, when I actually worked through this curriculum idea with my son a few years ago, we were all over the place with letters…definitely didn’t do it in ABC order! It works however you want to do it!

The older kids can participate in just about everything. The only thing they may not want to do is the writing activities in which the little ones are exposed to learning how to write the new letter. Otherwise, the olders can make the crafts, cook the recipes (and eat the food!), play the games and especially participate in the acts of service. We’ve really made this a whole family project when we’ve done it…just let our littlest ones be the “main guy” in final decision making as far as who we deliver a treat or gift to.

      Hope that helps!

What age range do you think fits “early learner”. I hope to be SAHM by the time DS is 3yr, and based on the sample lesson this seems like a good fit, albeit a little early for some of the activities. What ages were YOUR kids while creating this? I think this could still be useful even after he starts traditional school [if we go that route].

We started this idea when our second son was 3. He was the one we used it with most, but our then 6 year old joined in the fun and the one year old brother went along for the ride! :) I recommend this usually for children ages 3-7(ish). I think some two year olds could handle some of it (then revisit other parts of it later). Plus, even my older kids (8 and 10 year olds) are enjoying doing parts of it with our five year old now!

That’s what I figured! I’m sure we’d repeat the series a few times as he grows into it, and it would be good activities for us adults too!

I just found this website by someone that listed it on the Mops (mothers of preschoolers) website. I am a Moppets coordinator (gets volunteers to watch the children and provides activities or curriculum for the children). I am going to try the free trial with my three year old and hope to purchase the rest for my moppets kids. I am really excited about it because our church is big about living missionally. The serving aspect really got me. Thanks

    Laura,

I read your blog daily and I love all of the knowledge and recipes that I have gained from it. You are truly a blessing. I was also an educator before having children and now I am currently homeschooling my own. I am very interested in buying your preschool curriculum and think that the sample is amazing. I also love the fact that I can get the verses in KJV but I have another customization if you could humor it…Is there any way that you could use a more child friendly font on the handwriting page? I try to only demonstrate very basic writing skills for my over achievers or they will get hung up on their letters not looking like the font on this particular page. No biggie if you can’t I can always supplement with other handwriting sheets. Honestly, I don’t know the font that I would even want but if there is a font with a regular style lower case (a) that looks like a “ball with a stick so it won’t roll away” that would be just lovely! Thanks Again for all of your hard work and dedication as a mother and share your God given gift with the rest of us.

    Tiffany

Oh, I wish I would have just done that from the beginning, since it makes so much sense! To create an additional pack for this would be pretty tricky for me at this point. HOWEVER, I can let you know that since I know every parent has a different writing style they’d like to teach their kids, I didn’t put any letters on the lines of the Alphabet Practice pages, leaving that to the parents. So, there is an Aa at the top of the page with the funky “a” without the ball and stick, but at least the lines themselves are open and ready for the parent to draw it the way they want their child to learn!

I hope this ends up being a great curriculum choice for your family!

I put the intro with the sample pages of Bb so that everyone can understand what to do with those pages, which means the sample is actually 13 pages long. ;) Was the whole thing not pulling up for you? I double checked and clicked myself and found the entire sample. If you scroll down after clicking on the pdf file, you’ll find Lesson Bb several pages down after the intro and instructions. Please let me know if you’re still having trouble and I’d be happy to email the file to you if it makes it simpler. :)

There really are very few pages that have to be printed out. About 150 of the pages are ideas and activity suggestions for you to read through and pick from. The pages that need to be printed are the Alphabet Practice Pages, Bible Verse Pages and Activity Pack Pages. Basically you would have 3-5 pages to print out for each letter of the alphabet and that’s it!

Hope this helps answer your questions!

The beauty of this curriculum is that you can go through it as many times as you would like, pulling out different ideas each time depending on the ability of your child!

    Laura,
I’m very excited to use your curriculum with my little boy. I’m wondering if the downloadable version has all the papers included in the printed version. Also, if I purchased the downloadable version and printed it all off, would I essentially be paying the same amount as the printed version in computer ink? Is the printed version bound?

Both versions contain the exact same pages. For our printed version, we only added the cost of ink, paper, binding, and shipping – so if you’re planning to print it yourself, you will ultimately be paying the same price, except for the few dollars shipping. Our printed version is contained in a nice three ring binder.

Are you going to be running any more specials on this any time soon? I just had a baby and totally forgot to look at it last month. :(

You can start as young as two, but I typically recommend three years and older. :)

I have a small preschool in my home and this would be perfect. It gets them excited and it is different from the everyday cookie cutter way for them to learn.

My Wise and I are missionaries in Mexico. We are looking at homeschooling for our 3 year old. As my wife is Mexican we want to have school in both languages. We are looking at a curriculum here in Mexico that she will use. We are considering using this as a supplement and English curriculum. Do you think this a feasible plan? Due to my responsibilities in the ministry I will only have about 1-1 1/2 hours twice a week for school. Any thoughts would be great.

I have purchased this product but somehow managed not to download the alphabet worksheet pages and the project pages. Is there a way to log on to download these items? I cannot remember how I downloaded them the first time. Thank you.

We are considering this curriculum for the children present at our ladies’ Bible study at our church. Do I understand correctly that we may make the copies we need after purchasing the downloadable version? We generally have from 10-15 children around this age range. Thank you!
