Now…I don’t want to make a big deal of this….um…well…I’ll go ahead and tell you…
It’s my BIRTHDAY!!
Yes, I turned the big 35 today (Whoa that’s weird. I mean, I don’t think 35 is old. When other people turn 35. I just don’t feel 35…ya know?) :)
Anyway…it’s my day to be spoiled by all the men in my life.
Saturday night, Matt came to me with a notebook and pen in hand and said to me, “Okay, what would you like me to get done for you tomorrow?”
Seriously? A “Honey Do List” for my birthday?! Who needs presents?!
So, we made a list (that I kept adding stuff to all day today) and Daddy and the boys spoiled me all afternoon and evening working on the list.
And they made me a chocolate cheesecake (using this recipe but with 1/2 cup cocoa added). A Honey Do List and a chocolate cheesecake? Ah, a very happy birthday!
Well, enough about that… Here’s our menu for this week!

We’re super excited to be starting school this week!! We’ve got our books and supplies all ready (pictures to come!)…and I wish I had a nickel for every time the boys have said, “I can’t wait for school to start!!” I LOVE it that they love learning!
We’re also busy this week with dress rehearsals and performances as Asa and Justus are in the musical “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”. They’ve been singing all the songs at home constantly and they are ready for the show!
And…stay tuned for more Getting Real With Food posts!
Here’s to a great week!

Happy Birthday!!! :)
Happy Birthday! What a delicious looking week. The blueberry coffeecake looks soooooooooo good – think I’ll give that one a try at my house. ;)
Happy Birthday!! What a great birthday gift — chores around the house! =)
Happy birthday Laura! I hope you have a blessed and wonderful day! You deserve it!
Happy Birthday to you! I love birthdays, glad you had a nice one! :)
Happy Birthday! Glad you were spoiled with your list getting worked on!
Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, U look awful young…to be 35 too!
Your menu looks great!
I’ve always wondered what U pack 4 snacks on your outings to the Farmers Market, etc. Mind sharing?
Happy Birthday to You!!! Have an absolutely wonderful day :)
Happy Birthday! I agree with you completely – a little list of things to get done would be the best present ever, aside from spending time with the family! Enjoy your day!
Happy Birthday! What a great, great present! I am a tad bit jealous. And of course 35 isn’t old at all… 40, that is old, but 35, very very young :).
Toni
Happy Birthday, Laura! You look fabulous. I hope you have a great day.
No, 35 isn’t so old. Old is always at least 10 years older than you currently are… so Old is at least 45. 29, that was old. 35, not so much. Interesting how our perceptions change.
Happy, happy, happy!
Happy Birthday!
I just turned …well…ahm….I think it had a 4 and a 1. Yeah, that.
As if turning 4and0 isn’t bad enough…now I am offically “in my forties.” YUCKYUCKYUCK!!! Thank goodness I have a 19 month old to keep me feeling young, cause the other kids really just make me feel old!
Dawn-mom of 10
That sounds like a wonderful birthday. You have a ways to go before you are old. :)
What a lucky girl! I had to laugh at 35 – when I was growing up, 35 just sounded so old, but when I hit it, I felt the same!
Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday to who deserves some spoiling!!
Happy birthday!
Happy Birthday Laura! It sounds like you had a fabulous day and like your boys really took care of you. You certainly deserved it! What a blessing.
Your week sounds delicious as always.
I am looking forward to seeing all of your homeschooling pictures.
Hey, I was watching for you to walk in the door to Bible class on Sunday morning with birthday treats in your hands to share with the class! What’s up with you not doing that?
Mine is NEXT Sunday, so…..! :-)

Happy Birthday my fellow Leo friend! (mine was the 2nd and if it makes you feel any better, I turned 36! See, you’re still younger!) ;-) Glad your men spoiled you – it’s the best, isn’t it?!
Happy Birthday!!!! It is cool that your birthday is August too, mine is on Friday. It is nice to have atleast one day of the year to be spoiled :)
Happy Birthday!!!
God Bless,
Shannon
