Menu Plan for the Week

With the “You’re the Bomb” Valentine craft idea I shared, several of you mentioned that your schools have a zero tolerance policy for kids who bring anything to school that is even remotely related to a weapon. Yeah, bomb suckers sort of resemble weapons. Just a word of caution for you to check into that before you send your son to school with these valentines.

Instead, you could easily make these…

Because you just may want the loved ones in your life to look as ridiculous as this.

How cute! My brother’s b-day is on Tuesday as well! Unfortunately we’ll be @ a funeral of our grandmother on Tuesday. :-( Yup, 2nd one in 7 weeks.

Ugh, Danielle! And here you thought she had a little more time. That makes it even harder. I hope you were able to spend some time with her before she died. I’ll be praying for you and your family this week.

I thought so too Laura! And no I never did get a chance. Between weather, and just thinking I had more time, I never got the chance. That’s the thing w/patients being terminal. you never know when they’ll go for sure!

God is good though. My brother went to church this morning and took my niece. He hasn’t been to church in 10 years or more. My niece maybe once or twice in her lifetime of 10 almost 11 yrs. I know my mom would be very happy!

Hi, Laura. I made your cinnamon bread..and let me say, it makes FABULOUS toast…although, you probably already know that because you are FABULOUS in the kitchen.

Here’s my menu for the week:

I have a question regarding the white wheat…where do you purchase the grain to grind? How much do you get at one time and how do you store it? I love your website and consider it a gift from the Lord. Thanks!

You can read through this post to find answers to that question: https://www.heavenlyhomemakers.com/grain-mills-pt-3-what-grains-to-use-and-where-to-find-them. I’d especially focus on the comments people left since you might find a suggestion from someone who lives close to you!

I’ve got some heart-shaped and regular-shaped pretzels in the oven right now. Yummy! Yay for a day off on Valentine’s Day! I also made some cookies (not heart shaped, but CHOCOLATE)!

Okay, Laura. As I am in the midst of making my (today’s ~ also my first) version of ‘death by chocolate’ after being inspired by your previous post on Valentine’s goodies…. I notice on your menu plan NO sugar-sweetened desserts! Are you all being so good, or are you flooded with goodies from your friends?

Yeah, there isn’t any sugar listed there, huh? We’ve still been fighing the last effects from influenza hitting our whole family, so sweets aren’t on our radar much yet. So yeah, we’re being good, but not because we’re oh so disciplined. :)

I should just learn to not make my menu plan until reading yours. I always look at your recipes and think “wow, that sounds good!”. Thanks for all the great recipes and blog posts!

Laura, you are way ahead of me. I menu plan for dinners, but can not seem to get organized enough to give my family a nice variety for breakfast meals. This week we are having breakfast burritos, all week…every moring…
The nights go like this: Mon – hubby to make Valentine dinner (it’s a suprise!); Tues – chicken with sweet pea tortellini; Wed – scallop potatoes, ham broccoli; Thu – chicken stir fry, rice & asparagus; Fri – Fish, potatoes & veg, Sat – Double stuffed chicken breasts.

You are an inspiration. Keep it up!
