Some of you may recall that last year, several other bloggers and I worked together to write a series of posts titled “5 Simple Ways”. My post was 5 Simple Ways to Live a Natural Lifestyle, which I’m sure that at least two of you found to be completely inspiring and life changing. (What do you mean, you don’t even remember that post?!) ;) That’s okay, here it is if you’re interested in reading it.
This year, we’re all working together on a new series of “5 Simple Ways” posts, which will be featured around the web tomorrow. In the meantime, last years posts have been combined into a lovely little eBook that we are offering free for everyone. You can download 5 Simple Ways at no cost, and enjoy learning all kinds of fun new tricks and tips! (Here’s the print version if you’d prefer.)
Be watching for all of our new 5 Simple Ways posts coming up tomorrow. :)

Thanks! I’m excited to read all of it!
Thank you Laura & friends! As always, you’re a great source of encouragement & inspiration!
Laura I want to thank you for all the work you put into this site. I have become very passionate about what foods I put in our family since our children wre diagnosed with eosinophilic esophagitis 3 years ago. This disease makes it where their little bodies no longer recognize food as food..instead it thinks food is a foreign object like a parasite and sends eosinophils to attack the food causing pain, inflamation and many other symptoms I wouln’t go into. A year and a half ago our oldest son got where he could not eat ANY food at all. He has a feeding tube where he gets his nourishement. He was hungry yet I could not feed him or I would make him sick. Since then he has gained potatoes, coconut (Praise God!), clementines, and sunflowers as “safe foods”. He has also “failed” many food and went through a lot of things kids should not have to endure. My point of all this is what is going to happen to our bodies if we keep feeding them GMO, pesticide laden foods. Are we all going to wait until our bodies can’t even tell the difference in food and nonfood items? No matter what we have to do to feed our family healthy it is worth it!
Penny, my son also has Eosinophilic Esophagitis! He was diagnosed about
5 years ago. His dietary restrictions really made me more aware of what
is in our food, and I am striving to feed my entire family as healthfully
as possible. It’s so nice to “meet” you here!
Laura, your site is amazing! Thanks for all you do!
Wonderful to meet you Anne! What restrictions does your son have? Our younger boys are just gluten, dairy, nut, corn, and rice free. I have found most recipes that call for fresh ground whole wheat can be made gf by exchanging 2 parts sorghum flour and 1 part tapioca starch with 1 tsp guar gum/ cup for equal part of the wheat flour called for in the recipe. I did this with Laura’s chocolate cake last night and it turned out great!
Penny, my son cannot eat wheat/gluten, milk/dairy, soy, peanuts, treenuts, fish or
shellfish. We are currently trialing egg with him, and are hopeful he
will pass the scope and be able to keep egg!
Thanks for the tips on substituting. I haven’t quite mastered that yet!
Many blessing to you and your family!
