Here’s a little Q & A for you to let you know if it’s possible for you to order from my favorite food co-op, Azure Standard. You can see some samples of my monthly grocery orders here and here. Check out these jars of golden honey…YUM!
What is Azure Standard?
Azure Standard is a food delivery service specializing in offering top notch, organic and natural products. These folks provide my family with amazing organic produce and groceries each month. I am constanly blown away by their prices, especially for organic produce. Usually their organic fruits and vegetables are LESS EXPENSIVE than the non-organic produce I can find at my local grocery stores. They are SUPER easy to work with and incredibly nice. Read all about Azure Standard and what they stand for here. Are they awesome or what?
Who does Azure Standard deliver to?
Azure Standard has truck routes delivering to Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming! Plus, they are continuing to expand as much as they are able. If you’re from North Texas, read here about how you can encourage a drop point in the DFW area! And, if you’re from any of the above mentioned states, click over to read their delivery schedule specifics. Flip through the pdf file to find your state and see if there’s a drop location near you. If there isn’t one, you may be able to call and set one up. (That’s exactly how I did it a few years ago…I just called and set up a delivery drop point in my town!)
If you are from CO, NM, OK, KS AR, MO, TX, IA, IL, IN, LA, KY, TN, or north west part of MS – you’ll definitely want to click over to Covenant Ranch Trucking to learn about the services they provide for Azure!
If Azure Standard doesn’t have a truck route to my area, can I still order?
Yes! If you are unable to be a part of a co-op/truck delivery route…you can still order (most items) and have them delivered UPS or by mail. They deliver all over the U.S. and the world (if you make special arrangements). Shipping costs may be high, but it’s worth a check.
How often do the trucks deliver?
Azure Standard delivers once each month. I place my order on a Thursday…I pick it up the following Tuesday. (Every route is different, that’s just how it works for me…but talk about instant gratification!) We all meet our truck in a designated location, unload our boxes and bags (squeal with delight over our pretty fruit and bags of oats), load our vehicles and go home. It all takes about fifteen minutes. Amazing. Here’s a little field trip I took my readers on a few months ago so they could pick up my Azure Standard order with me…
Is there a minimum order?
Yes…if you’re right along the truck route, there is a minimum $550 order…but that’s total, for everyone who is ordering. If you get a few families involved, your minimum is met pretty easily.
Your individual order must also be at least $50. If your order is under that amount, just combine it with a friend.
Their prices for these organic foods are incredible! Are there any hidden fees?
Hidden, no. But some states (like mine) are subject to a delivery fee. I DON’T mind the delivery charge at all. If I didn’t have Azure Standard, I’d have to drive 2 hours one way to get food like this, and then the food prices would be a LOT higher. My delivery charge is less than my fuel cost would be to drive the 2 hours, plus the food costs less. I happily pay the delivery percentage on my order.
Hey, I can’t see the prices on their website! How can I see their prices?
Call them and set up an account. (541-467-2230) They’ll give you an account number and password, then you can log into their site and see all their prices. You can also fill out the form here to request a free catalog.
Do I have to order in bulk? I don’t have much storage space.
You can order in bulk, but you can also order small amounts of a product. I love this feature! You can order 50 pounds of oats, or just five pounds. You can order an entire case of organic ketchup, or just one bottle.
Does Azure Standard have a nice selection of gluten free food?
Yes. Click here to see some of their gluten free products…then click around looking for your other favorites.
What am I forgetting here? What other questions do you have about Azure Standard?
Jennifer says
Thank you so much for this fantastic info! This is just the direction and encouragement I need to get going on making some changes in our family food habits.
Lanise says
I have yet to order from Azure yet but would like to. How is the quality of their fruit? I was thinking about ordering some apples and pears. Thanks.
Laura says
The quality of their fruit is EXCELLENT. The do an incredible job trucking it across country without much bruising or squishing. I’ve always been SO impressed with their produce, especially the apples and pears.
Emily says
Also, if your food does get squashed (I had a flat of peaches get mangled once), their customer service is quite good. They credited my account without any problems.
Laura S. Cherry says
Laura,
My husband and I have a small farm in the Willamette Valley – there’s a large group of farmers in this area who have a hard time finding fresh produce and locally grown, organic foods during this time of year. We’re all too busy growing/concentrating on our own crops/animals that unfortunately – even though we know the dire effects of food on the body in general in the U.S. right now – we wind up buying junk from the grocery stores around here for convenience. Thank you so much for this information!! We just found out last week that I am expecting our first child and we could not be more thrilled!! This will help us eat right and give this new baby the best chance and great health possible!!
Laura S. Cherry
Marla says
Azure Standard is great! I also just called and set up a drop point for our town. The delivery charge for our area (Oklahoma) is 8% and the minimum drop order is $1000 ($1500. in some states). You don’t have to call to set up an account, you can do it all online. Very convenient. The produce is so cheap and very good quality. They have every product you can think of, from food to toiletries. Just like going to the grocery store. Also, in our area there is a yahoo group that orders items in bulk, and then the members split the items. Anyone could start a group in their area.
Mrs. Joseph Wood says
Hi Marla! My name is Jeanette. I am your Azure Driver, Joe’s, wife! It’s great to see you here!
Holly says
I was really disappointed by the high shipping costs to my neck of the woods (VA) but then I found a great co-op here, called Quail Cove Farms. They are owned by a Christian family and they deliver to parts of VA and MD I believe. Worth a glance if you’re in the area. http://www.quailcovefarms.com/index.html
Mrs Team S says
I have ordered from Quail Cove before when we lived in Virgina and they are really good. We live in Texas now.
Anna says
I was planning to order from Azure, I am in NC so I agree it could
get costly. I believe I may try Quail Cove instead. I need to stock up
since I am in a rural area.
Kris Mays says
Azure Standard is located in Dufur, Oregon, so the shipping costs for the East Coast are sure to be expensive.
Since we live in Oregon, delivery is free here and there are two trucks per month to our area -Southern Oregon.
It’s definitely the best option for folks in the Pacific Northwest. I appreciate their mission and that are owned by a Christian family. I love ordering from Azure.
Freddy says
“I appreciate their mission and that are owned by a Christian family.”
So, how would you feel if they were owned by a muslim family?
Kris Mays says
I would still order from them. But I am a Christian and we own a Family business and like to support others that have something in common with us. I don’t see that as unusual or offensive in any way.
Laura says
I agree, it’s nice to support families who are working toward the same goal you are working toward. There’s nothing at all wrong with that! Like Kris, I would still support them even if they weren’t a Christian company.
Heather says
I’ve had to stop ordering from them due to the requirement to use UPS shipping. It has not been cost effective for us. We keep hoping they will eventually add Indiana to their service routes :0
heather
AndiK says
Heather,
What region of Indiana are you in?
Heather says
I live about 20 minutes from Louisville, KY. It’s Southern Indiana–about 2 hours from Indianpolis.
heather
AndiK says
I’m in Southwestern Indiana–I was hoping that we’d be closer!
Mrs. Joseph Wood says
If you ladies are still interested in having Azure come to IN. I am keeping a list for Azure of people and communities that would like to have Azure come to their area of the country. Please feel free to email me your contact details so I can keep them for the future. momentswithmom (at)gmail (dot) com
Patty says
Thank you, Laura, for spreading the word about Azure Standard! Amazingly, I had to learn about them from you even though they are only about a 2 hour drive away! My first order arrives Wednesday, and I can’t wait.
Miranda says
Laura,
Do they give you a specific time of delivery on your delivery day?
Laura says
Yes, they do. They always deliver to us on a Tuesday. They call me on Monday to let me know the dop-off time, then I call all the people on our list (we have a calling tree of sorts) then we meet at the appointed time. The truck drivers keep a pretty tight schedule! It’s impressive!
Kris Mays says
I do it all by email. But a calling tree is a good idea.
Kori says
They also now deliver to Arkansas! It isn’t on your list, but I clicked on the pdf anyway…and there it says Arkansas. Thankfully, they also list a stop that is a normal 45 minute drive for me. :-) Now I will have to really check it out. Thanks for the info. I have looked at their site before but never made the time to call and get the info I needed.
Kori
Laura says
Well, sure enough there’s Arkansas. I added it into the post. Thank you so much for pointing that out!
Carole says
The same is true of Illinois, not on your list, but is on the pdf!
Kori says
Now I thought of another question! If I would be meeting them at one of their scheduled stopping points (They list Maumelle, AR on their route list) then do I have to have a $550 order or just a $50 order?
Holly says
If you are already using an established drop off point then you only need to mee the individual order minimum of $50.
Heather says
I live about 20 minutes from Louisville, KY. It’s Southern Indiana–about 2 hours from Indianpolis.
heather
Emily says
Does anybody know if there is something similar to Azure Standard that delivers to WI?
Laura says
Here are a couple of links to posts talking about other co-ops and food resources. Read through the comments especially to read where readers have found great sources. Someone probably mentioned WI!!

Fawn says
How about coming to eastern Iowa? Cedar Rapids and the suburbs actually have more people than the Des Moines area…….you could swing over to the Quad Cities and just head up along the Iowa/WI border :)
Christy Msal says
Fawn – I talked to Azure yesterday (March 27, 2011) and asked about starting a drop point in the Cedar Rapids area – because they don’t have any drop points over in this area we would need at least a $4000 order to get started – I”m trying to see who is interested in the Cedar Rapids area – I started a discussion group on facebook – hopefully we can get enough people together – we just have to pass the word along!! http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=119640601438353&topic=59 Please go and write in this discussion if you’re still interested! Thanks!
Sarah @ Mum In Bloom says
I had a look at the delivery route you attached and it looks like they deliver in our area. I’m concerned about all that trucking though. I love organic products but try to also buy local as much as possible. I don’t mind paying more to support a local business or to make things myself to save money. Hmmm.. this will take some thought. Thank you for sharing all this great information with us :)
Elizabeth says
Azure Standard doesn’t deliver to Tennessee, where we live, but there is a company that does. It’s called Bulk Natural Foods (http://bulknaturalfoods.com) and we get a lot of good stuff from them – mostly fresh organic fruit and wheat from Wheat Montana. You can contact them to find out if there’s a coop where you live.
Paige says
Does Azure have a brick & mortar store to shop from? We have family just minutes from Dufur. Thanks!
Laura says
Not that I know of, but you could call and check to be sure!
Paige says
Update! They don’t have a store front, but they said I could place an order and pick it up at their warehouse in Moro, Oregon! I’d bet good money know one here knows where Moro is :) so this info won’t help many people, but it makes me very happy!
Kris Mays says
I do! The locals in that area will often pick up their stuff at the warehosue instead of waiting for a truck. Convenient for them!
Jaime says
I totally know where Moro is! I’m in The Dalles…about 10 minutes from Dufur. I’ve thought of going through Azure, but hadn’t gotten around to it yet. I think it is about time I change that!
Surviving and thriving on pennies says
I order Azure Standard with a bunch of ladies around my neighborhood. Last week I was able to snag organic oranges for $19 for 35lbs. I have to say these oranges are the best ones I have ever had. So juicy! I just did a post on Azure Standard last week and was excited to see you did one too. Love these guys and love their rock bottom prices!
Bethany Bennett says
when i get lazy cooking, i just order from food delivery services.’-‘
Christina says
I live in Nashville, TN…does anyone know of a company like Azure Standard that would have a route here? I checked with Azure and the USPS shipping costs are a bit much. I would really LOVE to be able to use Azure Standard because there prices are GREAT!!!! Thanks for any help!
Shauna says
I’m also in the Nashville, TN area and would like to find a buying co-op like Azure.
Amber says
Christina and Shauna, Azure is expanding to TN in January 2012. I live down by Chattanooga, and I’m collecting names for Knoxville, Cleveland, and Chattanooga. Call Azure if you live in Nasheville, because they will be there soon!
Sarah Falk says
I’m excited to report that they will begin DFW service in January!!
Mrs. Joseph Wood says
It’s been a great week! Joe, Jed and Beth-Joy have enjoyed delivering to TX and all the smiles they ahave been greeted by! Thank you for making the M-2 a great route! If there is ever anything I can do for you please let me know! Mrs. Joseph Wood (Jeanette) Your Azure delivery Drivers wife. :-)
Arved Meergruen says
looking for 40 or 50 lbs of medium rye flower. Can I purchase that through Azur Standard? How much is a bag? I would buy 2 40 or 40lbs bags if the price ias right.
Thanks,
Arved
Michelle says
I see that someone reported that they will begin DFW service in January… Just a little further down IH 35S to Austin, pretty please!! They would make a killing in Austin with people being so heath conscious and all. Whole Foods corporate office and store are there, too. DFW is 3 hours one way. Going to e-mail them and tell them so. It’s a route to consider! :)
Mrs. Joseph Wood says
Hi Michelle!
Yes, we are in the Austin area! Please feel free to call me if you would like to know those drop details. 785-633-3152
Mrs. Joseph Wood (Jeanette)
Alyssa says
How far south have you gotten? Near Galveston, by any chance?
Mrs. Joseph Wood says
Hi Alyssa! I called my husband, the driver to TX and he said the farthest south we are currently going is Houston or Sugarland (I don’t know what is closer for you). Please email me at [email protected] with your contact details and as soon as we get closer to you I will contact you immediately!
Sarah @ Mum In Bloom says
I called them today and they deliver in Kansas City :) I’ll link back after I place & bring home our first order. Very exciting!
Mrs. Joseph Wood says
It’s great to have you join us Sarah! You’ll actually be part of our M-1 route that Joe and my oldest son, Jed, deliver. We look forward to getting to know you more. Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with!
Kari says
Hi Laura,
Do you mind if I ask which raw white cheddar cheese you get from Azure? There are quite a few and I’m not sure which one to order.
Thanks for all your tips!
Kari
Mrs. Joseph Wood says
Kari, I don’t know which one Laura uses but I love Brunkow Cheese: Cheddar, Raw Milk item number CH063 you can visit the site to see
this product at: http://www.azurestandard.com/shop/product/6702/
Laura says
I use Landmark raw white cheddar. Yummy!
Samantha says
I am about to submit my first order to Azure. I have seen when items do not come in and I am paying upfront, so how does that work? If I already pay for them do I get credit for it?
Mrs. Joseph Wood says
They don’t charge you until the truck is loaded and they know what is being shipped. Hope that info helps! Mrs. Joseph Wood http://www.facebook.com/azurestandard
Mrs. Joseph Wood says
For anyone interested, My husband Joe is the Azure delivery drive to KS, OK, MO, AR, TX and part of CO. He just called me and said that he wants to delivery Azure products to the Ottawa KS area on HWY 58! It’s right on his way inbetween two drops. If you’re interested let me know and I’ll help you get all the information you need! Please email me at: mrsjosephwood (at) gmail (dot) com
Mrs. Joseph Wood says
That’s HWY 59 not 58! Thanks!
Linda says
Mrs. Wood, I just learned that Azure is planning a route in New Mexico! I am so excited and plan on forwarding an email as soon as their website is back up. Have you had alot of interest for the Southern New Mexico area yet?
Colleen Moon says
Oh that would be wonderful! My husband and I are moving to southern NM at the beginning of the new year and would LOVE to be able to use Azure Standard (we currently live in SC). I will definitely be calling about that!
Linda says
Hi Colleen! I have confirmed that they are beginning a route along I-25 South to El Paso then back up through I-10 towards Deming :) The cut-off date for the first order coming this way is January 25th.
Kim says
Thank you for the information! I live in WA and am looking for grains to grind! I will be buying from them!
Christy Msal says
Just wondering if anyone knows of any drop points near Cedar Rapids/Waterloo/Cedar Falls area – I am VERY interested in ordering!
Christy Msal says
IOWA that is…sorry!
Yvonne says
How can you tell if your drop point has the minimum $550? I’m from Lincoln, NE and there is a drop point here but I don’t know if others are using it and I won’t need to purchase that much food myself.
Sarah @ Mum In Bloom says
Yvonne ~ I’m a drop point volunteer here in KS. Call Azure & they’ll let you know if they can set-up a drop point in your area. If they find there isn’t a $550 order total for the drop, then they’ll stop delivery there. There’s really no risk on your part. Why not give it a try :) Good luck!
Jenni R says
Does anyone know of ANYthing similar to Azure that services the southeast? I saw a TN comment above, and I know of NOTHING down this way.
All suggestions are welcome!
Amber Cooper says
Azure is coming to Tn in April!! Ask Jeanette if your town is included. You can visit her Facebook page at Azure Standard Midwest Routes.
Diane says
On one of their route maps it looked like they take I-70 from Utah into Colorado. Is there any chance of getting them to make a drop in Grand Junction? We live about an hour and fifteen from there in a small rural community that is so off the beaten trail I doubt it would be worthwhile for them; but if they’ll drop in GJ, it sounds like their prices might make up for the gas money, especially if I could get a good price on bulk wheat and oats, which we go through like crazy around here with our six little ones.
rs. Joseph Wood says
Hi Diane, my name is Jeanette. I am the Azure delivery driver’s wife. We actually have a drop in Grand Junction. If you give me a call I would be more than happy to give you those details. We’d love to have you join us!

I just heard about Azure Standard last night! It sounds amazing. I live in Snowmass, Colorado is there a drop point close to me?
Laura says
You’ll have to contact Azure Standard to find out for sure – they can put you in contact with someone in that area if they do have a drop point there. :)

I am about to place my first Azure order. Is there away that you can get some “credit”. Do I need to use your link to place the order?
Thanks
Laura says
Oh, I appreciate you asking! I’m not affiliated with Azure in any way, unfortunately. So, go ahead and place your order and simply enjoy! I’m excited for you!
Alison says
It really does sound awesome. I am in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada… any way I could participate? I could probably drive over the border once a month. Or I’d be interested in looking at shipping costs.
Diana Booker says
Ilive in central florida near Disney World. Is there anyway for me to use Azure Standard?

jbostelle says
I have a question about a product of yours, hope I get through.
jbostelle says
Thank you. I purchased 5# of malted barley & corn from my local store, planned to use it for beer brewing. Would like to know composition.% barley % corn. Thanks, Jon
jbostelle says
YOU people would truly make a Christian bleed from the eyeballs! I have never had so much trouble getting a simple question answered.
Laura says
Ummm, it seems that you are trying to coorespond with Azure Standard. I’m not Azure Standard – I’m http://www.heavenlyhomemakers.com. I have blogged about Azure Standard often, but I am not Azure Standard, nor am I able to answer questions for them. You’ll need to go to http://azurestandard.com with these questions.
Kim says
I am so jealous that they don’t seem to deliver anywhere NEAR SE Pennsylvania where I live. *sigh* Although we do have a great farming community around here, most farms only sell a few items and there’s not much available during the winter time. There are some great farmer’s markets close to Philly, but from where I live, they aren’t convenient. However, I’m excited to see they deliver to Hawaii as my best friend lives there and often talks about the high prices for, well, everything and this may be a great service for her. Although, some days I have a hard time feeling sorry for her when she’s complaining to me while sitting on the beach in February and I’m looking outside at several inches of snow and temperatures in the single digits. But on the plus side, I have a free place to stay whenever I want (and can afford) to visit Hawaii!!
Anyway, thanks for sharing this info. It sounds like an awesome company.
Kim says
Wow, they are expensive to ship to the east coast! I just checked ordering 4 bags of potato chips and the shipping costs were 25% more than the total cost of the products. As much as I’d love to be able to order from them, I don’t feel like paying more than double the the food cost as then I won’t be saving money over the grocery store prices.
Mrs. Joseph Wood says
UPS is very expensive. That is why communities get so excited when we have our truck making deliveries to them. However, I know there are many families we go to that have been buying from Azure for years and having it shipped UPS. If you’d like us to consider your community for an Azure delivery give me a call and I can put you on the list. 785 633 3152 (Jeanette)
Bobbie Jo Riehle says
I live in Western Massachusetts, close to New York border. It would be great to get an Azure delivery out this way someday!
Debby Pietrowski says
Are they still planning to deliver to IL? I live in the a western suburb of Chicago. I did not see it on their website though I may have just missed it. I feel like this summer you may have mentioned they were expanding in January. Just thought I would check. I would love to order from them.
Mrs. Joseph Wood says
yes, we sure do have drops in Chicago area. If you give me a call I would be happy to tell you where they are. My husband and son were making deliveries there just this week! Just call me and let me know how I can help you. 785 633 3152 (Jeanette)

I live in Crossville, TN. Any chance for a drop point here in Crossville on the way to Chattanooga?

I am over here in Rhode Island and would love this. Fellow church members would like this too, as many are feeding big families. I live close enough to Conn. And Mass. Lines, that I could pick up at either state. (It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to drive from the top of our state line with Mass, thru R.I. and make it to the Conn. line.).
Do you know if Azure delivers to either one of the 3 states (RI, CT, MA).

My family is relocating to nebraska next week. After we get settled we 100% plan on ordering with Azure Standard. :)

Meghan,
I am a drop point manager for a west Omaha/Gretna Azure drop point. Please let me know if I can be of any help to you. There are several drops around the Omaha area if you settle in around here somewhere. Hope you enjoy Nebraska. I’m an Arkansas native, but my family and I have been here almost 4 years now :)
Mrs. Joseph Wood says
That is wonderful! Thank you for helping her get started in NE, Christina!! Awesome!

I read somewhere that their is a drop in Northwest Mississippi, but I can’t find it on the website?

Hi Meg!
I work for the Wood family and would love to help you with this!
We do actually have a drop in Hernando. Will that work for you?
Can you please either email me at [email protected] or call me at 907-354-8551 so I can get you the drop information?
Thank you! We are excited to have you on board!

We currently live in CA and have a drop point very close but we are looking at moving to central MT and wonder if there are any drop points in that area?
Tandy Sue Hogate says

Do you deliver to Canada? If not…how about to Minneapolis or to Grand Forks, North Dakota or to Neche, North Dakota?
I am looking for Organic Powdered Goats Milk Formula for infants. No additives, preservatives, hormones or antibiotics added. Do you carry this and could you deliver?
We cannot find anything like this here in Canada and we have a 4 mth old grandson who has bad allergies. :(

FYI: There is now a drop in the Baton Rouge, LOUISIANA area. Yay! For more information you can contact Azure and/or search on Facebook for “Azure Standard Baton Rouge Drop” group page. (PS. I’ve read about Azure from your blog and others for several years now and was so dissapointed when, years ago, I contacted them only to learn there wasn’t a drop in my area. But thanks to some locals who have worked very hard, we now have a truck heading our way every month! Yay!)
Kay D says
For those of you who live in Louisiana we now have our own route starting in October. It goes all the way in northern Louisiana across I 20 hitting Shreveport, Mindon, Ruston, and Monroe and then it goes to a couple of places in Mississippi and then heads south to cover southern Louisiana!
Nancy Jo says
We live near Myrtle Beach, S C. Please keep me posted as you get drop points farther East! I could go to Florence SC To pick up.
Jeanette Wood says
Hi, Nancy!!! I’d love to help you get a drop to your area. Would you want to call us? It is fastest that way. 785-380-0034 or you can email us at: http://[email protected] we also have a neat form we’ve put on our website where you can request a drop: http://covenantranchonline.com/request-a-drop/ or you can use our delivery map. http://covenantranchonline.com/drop-locations/ Put in your zip code and how many miles you’re willing to travel and it will give you all the drops within that radius. I hope all that information helps you. I look forward to getting to know you more. A HUGE thank you to Laura for sharing with others about Azure Standard and Covenant Ranch Trucking! I have a child with a peanut and tree nut allergy. Are the items labeled with warnings for top food allergens?
Laura says
I believe they have to by law, but you’ll need to contact them to ask for sure. :)
