Last weekend at our family reunion…two of my cousins and I were visiting and sharing about some of our recent struggles.
We talked about how in the midst of our struggles….Satan is going to tell us lies.
Lies that he really wants us to believe. Lies that make us doubt what we know to be truth. Lies that cause us extreme pain. Lies that break our hearts and challenge our faith.
Even though we know God’s truth…when we’ve been hurt or when tragedy occurs in our lives…the lies can cover up the truth and take over our minds and hearts.
Which is exactly what Satan wants.
And we usually don’t even recognize it.
So my cousins and I talked about how we need to ask God to expose the lies.
And then we need to listen.
Just listen…so that our eyes can be opened to see and understand what the lies are.
Because when we know what the lies are…we can re-learn what the truth is.
What God’s truth is.
We are whole. We are loved. We are taken care of.
God never fails us.
God IS truth.
And the Truth will set us free.

Thank you for that. I really needed to hear it, too. That’s one thing I hadn’t thought about asking God to do–expose the lies. Thanks.

WOW! I see I am the 3rd one who needed this tonight. I’m shocked! If you only knew what I ran into, just a few hours ago….yes Lord, please expose the lies!

Wow! So true. It’s kind of funny how it is something so easy, yet it is do difficult to do, you know?

Such a good reminder. My sisters and I did Nancy Leigh DeMoss’ book “Lies Women Believe and the Truth that sets them free” as our quiet time study and I HIGHLY recommend it!

Thanks for your timely post. I am living proof that the truth will set you free. I always thought it was a phrase someone’s mom coined, when I found out it was Biblical I was stunned.
