It’s our wedding anniversary this Gratituesday!
What I am actually most excited about this year is that while soccer season has usually already started by the time our anniversary rolls around, this year it begins the day after. Wasn’t that thoughtful of the calendar to work with us this year? (Remember our 17th anniversary? While we couldn’t be together that day since Matt was away at a pre-season soccer retreat, I think that still may be one of my favorite anniversary memories.)
This year, we get to be together! And so, we’ll spend our special day schooling the kids, working on our rental properties, painting our house, doing everything we can to get ahead so that our busiest season of the year will go more smoothly. Then come evening, we’ll steal away without the kids to use a gift card at a local restaurant, and enjoy time to eat together and have real and uninterrupted conversation.
Soccer season? Bring it on. But the evening before during our special date time? It’s all about us. 19 years and looking forward to many more!

Technically, that’s not really the kind of post that fits the Gratituesday theme. We’re looking for posts that share “here’s what I’m thankful for this week” rather than just informative posts. I’m thankful for a wonderful husband. And even more along with that… We are celebrating ten years in November! I’m so thankful that in November we get to take a week long trip up the California coast to be alone :) so excited!!!

Happy 19th anniversary Laura. I love the picture. It was mine and John’s 19th year anniversary also on June 11th. He was out of town for our big day. We celebrated later!!! We went to Seattle for my niece and new nephew’s wedding. My sister kept the kids so we had a week by ourselves. We went to Las Vegas for 4 days and then we went home and had a few days just the 2 of us which we have never done. It was very much needed than we got our kids back and it was a happy reunion.

My husband and I will celebrate our 19th in September. He’s also a soccer coach and so we rarely get to celebrate on the actual day. But eventually he’ll have a day off and we’ll go on a date. :)
