It all happened unexpectedly.
My cousin Kristin sent me a message a few weeks ago saying, “So….I have this really cute, but EMPTY, vanilla bottle here…If I recycle and send it back to you, can you refill and send it back????” To which I answered, “Sounds like you need to make a trip to Nebraska so I can refill it for you.” ;)
And on the conversation went until can you believe it, last weekend, she made the trip! And she brought her two little boys and one of my favorite aunts! (The aunt who made my very special Disney quilt.)
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed their visit. The boys played and played. We gals chatted and cooked and caught up on everything going on.
I loved every minute of it. We’re going to definitely need to think of more excuses for them to come in the future!
Oh, and it wasn’t until it was time for them to load up and go home that Kristin realized that she’d actually forgotten to bring along her vanilla bottle for me to refill. Ha! Figures, doesn’t it? No problem though. It just so happens that I was able to find a little jar I could fill with homemade vanilla and send home with her. ;)

Awesome! So happy for you to have had this visit with dear ones.
Glad you had a nice visit! We have family in town this week too and it’s always nice to see them!
What a lovely story! I miss my cousins, They’re Texans and I’m a northeast Yankee. So glad you got to catch up!
I haven’t posted in awhile and I read your new guidelines… I hope I’m within them! I always get nervous I’m doing something I’m not supposed to do!
How fun! Hope you had a wonderful visit. :-)

Hi Laura, once again thanks for hosting this link-up. Glad you could visit with family in such a wonderful way. It is always such a joy to have family over ! Blessings – Gertrude.
What a wonderful weekend!
Thanks for the link-up … I posted today about being thankful for chocolates, but not just the edible kind – I was specifically referring to the kind that walk on four legs, wag their tails and bark :)
I’m also hosting a “100 Reasons To Be Thankful” list … anyone is welcome to participate!
Oh we had so much fun!! And my boys have been rock star sleepers ever since we got home. But let’s be honest, you cooked and we ate!! And we loved every minute of our entire visit!! We definitely have to do it again.
The idea of homemade vanilla sounds great and a visit from family is always a treat!
