Free Printables: Christmas Cards

December 10, 2013 by Laura 4 Comments

I’m not great at sending out Christmas cards anymore. I have zero guilt over this. I have found other ways to be in touch with loved ones and find that taking “Send Christmas Cards” off my holiday to-do list is a great relief.

However, I still often find that it’s nice to have a few Christmas cards on hand to add to gifts, to put with a plate of cookies we’re giving away, or to simply encourage someone. I had fun creating a few different cards that I printed off to grab when I need one. Then I made each of the files into downloads to share with you!

Simply download the files below, print the cards on plain white cardstock, cut them apart, fold in the middle, and use them to bless people!

Making Your Christmas Count

December 1, 2013 by Laura 4 Comments

It’s too easy to get caught up in the hype of a commercialized Christmas. This year, our family decided to work a little harder at working less hard. We’re drop-kicking the stress of Christmas time. We figured the best way to keep Christ in Christmas is to do what He did on earth. He served. He loved people. He cared. He took time to be still and pray.

Together, we sat down and made a list of how we could really make Christmas count this year. Here are just a few of our ideas:

Making Christmas Count Ideas 2

We continue to add ideas as we think of them. In fact, our page is almost full now. Will we get them all done? No, and that’s not the point anyway. We’re working hard at not working hard, remember? Our list is a brainstorm. We’ll pray about how God can use us during this season, and we’ll let the rest go.

We’d love for you to join us this year in Making Christmas Count! We made a free printable to share with you so that you and your family can make a list of your own. Let’s enjoy serving others this holiday season, remembering and appreciating the One who came to serve.

Here’s a fun and simple craft you or your kids can make to decorate for Thanksgiving! Here’s what to do:

  1. Print the two downloads we have provided.
  2. Cut out the leaves.
  3. Glue or tape the leaves together in a circle. You may find it works better to affix them to a wire hanger that has been pulled into a circular shape.
  4. If you like, give your leaves personality by adding some googly eyes.
  5. Hang your Be Thankful Wreath.

In addition, your family might enjoy writing on the leaves, sharing what you are thankful for.

Gratituesday: John 14:27

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27

Those are words from Jesus, and they speak life and truth to me. The comfort and love in those words are enormous. Is there trouble in this world? Yep. Is Jesus bigger? Absolutely. Do we put our trust in people or things or ourselves? No way. We trust the One who gives abundantly more than anything this world has to offer.

I love everything I read in the Bible, but it is the words of Jesus that I’m feasting on.

It works well for me to print out verses and put them up in my house so that I can see them often. In case that works well for you too, I made this to share:

I’d love to hear other verses that are speaking truth into your lives!

Can you believe it? Heavenly Homemakers has been around for over six years now. Time flies when you’re meeting new people, learning to be healthier, trying new recipes, and eating lots of butter.

Some of you may remember that a long, long time ago my readers and I worked together to put together a Pie eBook. The book is filled with tried and true pie recipes – recipes that YOU sent me. I compiled all the recipes into an eBook, and offered it to everyone for free.

The good news? This eBook is still free!  The better news? I’ve updated the eBook to make it easier to read and nicer to look at!

Just in time for the holidays, I am thrilled to present to you the new and improved For the Love of Pie eBook:

You may remember this free download as I’ve offered it before. Now that it’s fall, I wanted to share them again!

There are six different recipes in this set of cards. These recipes all really hit the spot this time of year. It’s fun to put together one of these yummy recipes, then attach the corresponding recipe to the item and deliver it to a friend or neighbor. This set includes:

  • Applesauce Bread
  • Whole Wheat Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins
  • Black Bean Salsa
  • Cheesy Salsa Enchiladas
  • Chewy Granola Bars
  • Easy Noodle Stir-Fry

Download Fall Recipe Cards Here

Details and instructions for downloading and printing these recipes cards:

Once you click this link, you will need to click “save as” to save them to your computer. Then, you can open the folder. These recipe cards are in a “zip file”. If you are unsure how to open this to access the recipe cards, here is a simple tutorial that will show you how to open a zip file.

These cards were designed at 300 DPI, and are 4×6 in size. You can print them on your home computer/printer, or take them to your favorite photo processing place for printing. (Walmart and Walgreens make excellent prints for less than 20 cents per card).

While you may NOT print these cards and resell them, there is no limit to how many cards you may print and give as gifts!

Free Printable: Caramel Apple Dip Gift Tags

What I love about so many of these free printables is that while they are cute, fun, and functional – they also encourage us to love on and serve others. Since it’s fall, and typically we can get our hands on lots of apples – I’ve been thinking that it would be fun to make Homemade Caramel Sauce, put it on a jar with a gift tag, then put it into a basket of apples to give to someone. Wouldn’t that be a fun and cute gift?

And so, I gave the idea to one of my designers, and here is what she came up with:

CaramelSauceTag-prev

I love it!

These cards can be printed on white cardstock, cut and folded over. You can write an encouraging note inside to the person you plan to deliver the basket to. The tags were created with both “Homemade Caramel Sauce” on the front, and with a blank front if you’d like to do something else with it.

Fun, cute, FREE – and a great way to bless someone. Download the gift tags below. Then get to work on some Homemade Caramel Sauce! Have fun!

It’s an entire eBook, filled with ten healthy, easy breakfast recipes – and it’s FREE for Heavenly Homemakers Subscribers! To encourage us all as we work to get ahead in our kitchens, here is Healthy Breakfast Made Simple:

breakfast_e-book cover_sm

Yum

I’ve decided that we can never have too many quick and healthy breakfast recipes. I love recipes that can be made ahead of time (or thrown together quickly), and my family really appreciates a variety. I shared the Homemade Instant Oatmeal Packets recipe a few days ago, which is the recipe that inspired the idea for this eBook several weeks ago. I thought it would be nice to have the instant oatmeal recipe in a handy printable, then as I began putting it together, an entire eBook evolved. It’s not a fancy eBook, but who needs fancy? We just need simple, right? A Healthy Breakfast Made Simple. :)

This eBook, Healthy Breakfast Made Simple, has ten healthy breakfast recipes for you, many of which can be prepared ahead of time. Here’s what you’ll find in this eBook:
