Loads of Christmas Brunch Recipes

When a bunch of women get together for any kind of party…what do they usually talk about?

Yes, the topics typically range from kids and snot to favorite ways to get stains out of clothes to a good sale someone found on sweaters – and everything in between.

Since you and so many, many women are joining us here at Heavenly Homemakers for our virtual brunch – I figure that if we were sitting around in my living room visiting in real life, after we covered the above topics and shared about what all of our plans are for Christmas, the topic would surely eventually turn toward favorite recipes. Don’t you think?

That is why I’m excited today, as part of our Christmas Brunch, to share with you several more recipe ideas from years past. We can never have enough fun, comforting holiday treat recipes!

Peppermint Patties

Homemade Healthier Eggnog

Whole Wheat Gingerbread Men

Warm Vanilla Soother

I am a fan of the vanilla soothers and cinnamon muffins. =0) favorite holiday flavors. Here’s my favorite sugar cookie recipe. It isn’t healthy at all. But a couple of times a year works for me. =0)This has been asked for and shared more times than I can count. (even a manager at a “famous” cookie store. She loved that they baked in 5-7 minutes. =0)

    (CHRISTMAS) SUGAR COOKIES

    Cream together in large bowl:
    2 eggs
    1 cup sugar
    1 cup butter, softened
    Then add:
    1/4 cup milk
    1 tsp vanilla

    In separate bowl mix together:
4 1/2 cups cake flour (sold in baking aisle with other flour types-sold in a box)
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp baking soda

Slowly add flour mix to butter mix. Cover and refrigerate over night. Roll out to appprox. 1 in thickness.

Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 400 for 5-7 min.

Allow to cool and frost with your favorite frosting. Amount this recipe makes is anywhere from 3 dozen to 5 dozen depending on your cookie cutters.

Laura, whenever I get together with a bunch of women I always talk about recipes. :) I am addicted to trying new recipes even though I have lots of tried and true ones. We’ve loved your vanilla soothers (which was perfect while I was pregnant last winter) and the vanilla muffins.

I made these gingerbread men with my kids the other day. They’re so good! Mine are rather strong-tasting, though, because unsulphered blackstrap molasses was all I had on hand.

We were just talking about snacks to make for tomorrow–this couldn’t have come at a better time! We’re doing muffins for breakfast, and I was going to make the pancake sausage muffins (always a hit with my daughter) and the pumpkin choco chip ones (always a hit with my honey and mother-in-law). I can’t wait to try the vanilla muffins with crumb topping. Thank you, and Merry Christmas :).
