My question doesn’t fit with the menu plan theme, though yours does sound great! I was curious if you could recommend a way to make something that would be similar to or usable in place of canned crescent rolls. My girls really love breakfast pizza and I’ve made them with canned crescent rolls until now. I realize that I need to phase those out… and quickly, if possible. I just don’t want to give up on the breakfast pizzas. None of my girls are good eaters, and b-fast pizza is a great way for me to get eggs and meat into them. Any suggestions for me? Thanks!
If anybody can figure out crescent roll dough, it’s Laura! :>)
I’ve been meaning to ask you – does your hubs follow the same menu? Now, granted, I am only baby steps into eating healthier, so I know that whole grain fills you up better and whatnot. However, I suspect my farmer would eat 1/3 a pan of apricot streusel bars and a banana or two, go feed cattle, and then stop at his mom’s for a snack. I could probably get away with potato soup for supper, but not for lunch. Etc. I know Matt works hard, so how do you keep him going?
I *seriously* can’t wait to read more about your flour!
Those apricot breakfast bars look fabulous! I liked reading your breakfasts and lunches. That should be my next step! I’m so focused on dinners and should spend more time planning B and L! Enjoy your yummy food this week!

Great menu plan. Have a great week!
Mary Beth – For a replacement for the crescent rolls, I’d try my pizza crust recipe found at this link: https://www.heavenlyhomemakers.com/pizza-night
There’s quite a bit of butter in it which will make it “flaky-ish” and it’s a nice dough with good flavor. The only thing is…it’ll take a little longer to bake than the crescents, which may not be a happy thing in the mornings. Maybe try baking it the night before (just the crust) and then adding your toppings in the morning and baking it again to heat? Let me know if you try this and it works so we can tell others. I might give this a try too. It sounds yummy!
Lenetta – Yes, Matt eats what’s on the menu plan, at least usually. He does get full (and he’s a big eater!)…He always drinks a big glass of whole milk with breakfast like the apricot bars, which helps fill him up. And yes, definitely the whole grains are filling because they are so full of nutrients. He also usually takes a snack like peanuts or cashews for a morning break.
As far as the potato soup for lunch keeping him full…it has butter and CREAM in it…he eats quite a bit of it..AND I serve it with homemade pretzels usually…which are whole wheat and filling. AND since the pretzels are so yummy…he eats several of those. Again, he usually drinks a big glass of milk (or a homemade milk shake with eggs in it) at lunch time. He usually goes back to work after lunch telling me that his boss will be upset with me for filling him up so full that he can’t work any more!! :)
What do you feed YOUR husband for breakfast and lunch?
Oooh, I love kefir smoothies!
:)
Love the look of your site ! I will be back to hear all about your whole wheat flour !!
Thanks Laura! I’ll give your pizza dough a try and let you know how it goes. I don’t think it’ll matter that I have to cook the night before… they are so antsy for breakfast in the am’s that I usually make it even with crescent rolls the night before and then heat up the morning of.
Great menu, Laura! The sweet potato streusel muffins sound delish! :D
I just wanted to let you how inspiring you are to me! I have 4 boys, and one girl ages 11 on down to 2 and I am on the same journey as you are with food along with budgeting and figuring out how to work it all out by prioritizing.
I really needed your website today…I’m so glad the Lord led me to it!
