I have exactly three weeks left before I turn 40. God is good to give us wisdom as we age, and I’m thankful to be at this point in my life journey. So instead of fretting that I’m “getting old,” I am going to celebrate!
I’ve been putting together some fun sales and giveaways, all of which have something to do with the number 40. I will be revealing these one at a time during the next three weeks, beginning tonight. Be sure to check back! Above all, for the next twenty-one days, I am only 39 and don’t you forget it. :)

Mary Brandon says
I was 39 until my daughter turned 40. She will be 50 next month. My youngest grandchild is 14. The rest are adults. Most 21 or more. What do you mean as you age? You haven’t even started.
Margaret D says
Well, let’s just say I can retire this October. ;o)
Janelle says
I am a whopping 26 years old! ;-) With a toddler in tow.
Arica says
I am 34 and God has blessed me beyond measure. I am learning to be content in the life that He has given me.. So, 34 is great!!!!
Jessica says
Happy Birthday! I turn 43 later this year. The 40s are actually a good decade.
Tara says
31! The 30s are better than the 20s by far; I am looking forward to the wisdom that will come if I apply myself to finding it!
Michele M says
I am 44. So far, my age has never bothered me. I had an elderly friend who, if someone would worry about reaching a certain age, would say that we should just be thankful that God had given us that many years. I am truly thankful that He has given me 44 years to be with my family!
Sarah says
I am 26 with three under five! Sometimes I feel like I am ninety. ;)
Amy Villarreal says
I am turning 32 this week with 4 kids ages 8,6,4, and almost 2. I 2nd Sarah’s comment that sometimes I feel like I am 90! What I am not loving are the gray hairs that I am finding… to which my husband comments… I had hoped you would get them, that means we are growing old together :)
Kathryn says
I will be 40 in October! Actually I am celebrating the first anniversary of my 39th birthday.
Kathy says
I am 48, and just celebrated the arrival of my first grandbaby a week ago. Just a week before that, my husband and I, needing to open a new checking account, were offered a “Senior Advantage” account. We thought it was funny, but figured we might as well start cashing in on the benefits and discounts that growing older brings our way. Personally, I’ve never had a problem with my age. Maybe because I am the youngest in my family, so my siblings will ALWAYS be older than me! And my gray hair? I’ve earned it; it is my “crown of splendor.” (Proverbs 16:31).
Kathy says
Ewww…I just realized that I made it sound like I’ve attained a righteous life (Proverbs 16:31 says, “Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained by a righteous life.”) I just meant that Proverbs calls gray hair a “crown of splendor.” I’ve earned my gray hair by living life and mothering seven children!
Deb says
Just turned 61….so when I hear 40 I think, wow! so young and full of energy! Enjoy these years. I’m young at heart, but it’s harder to get out and garden the way I’d love to.

Laura, you don’t know me, but I’ve been hanging around on your site for awhile, and live in Fresno, CA. I have a 40th birthday I must face in August, as well! I’m a homeschooling mom of 5, who are 10, 6, 4, 2, and 4 mos. I do feel like 90 sometimes- I’m in the thick of it, but know that it is a wonderful, yet sometimes “hairy” season that will be all too soon gone. Just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for turning 40 before me, hehe! And I KNOW there are some of us that would love to meet you the next time you’re passing through! God bless and happy birthday!
Laura says
I’ll definitely be having a Meet and Greet next time we’re in Fresno. It will be great to meet you (and let you remind me how much *older* I am than you). :)

I just celebrated (yes!) my 32nd birthday (AND 14th wedding anniversary), and am so blessed and thankful to be happily married with six beautiful, healthy children (12, 11, 8, 6, 2 and 1). Age is just a number to me — I usually have to do the math in my head when someone asks me how old I am (that’s if none of my kids are around). You’re only as ‘old’ as you want to be!! :)
