We had a bunch of company all weekend long and I’m a little bit on the tired side. Do you ever have that “let down” feeling after you’ve looked forward to company and prepared for company and enjoyed the company….and then they leave and all you can do is stare into outer space and try as you might, you can’t remember your own name? Weird.
As a result, I was having SUCH a hard time coming up with a menu plan for this week. After all my planning and prep for last weekend, a part of me didn’t feel AT ALL like planning for this week. Ah, but people are still waking up hungry around here…go figure. This time so that I didn’t have to think very hard to plan our meals, I just opened up a window with my Bread and Breakfast recipe ideas….and opened up another window with my Main Dishes recipe ideas. Then I just grabbed ideas off of each page that looked good and would be well balanced. That worked very well for my slow moving brain.

LOL — Laura, I think that just means you’re an introvert! Technically speaking, introverts have energy zapped by being around people; extroverts get charged up around people.
No matter how much I love the people I’m with or how much fun I had with them, when everyone leaves, I have that glazed looked on my face for a couple hours and I just need to be by myself and decompress!

Oh yeah, I’m a TOTAL introvert. I love the people…love having company. But afterward I’m worthless. I was so thankful to learn about introvert/extrovert stuff a few years ago so I could let go of the guilt for feeling this way!

Me too! My husbands family just left and I feel that way. I’m sitting on the couch, reading ur website on my phone… And there is only 3 of them! What am I going to do with 30 people next weekend for my son’s birthday!?!?

I tried making the pumpkin pancakes yesterday and I thought I completely flopped them. We cannot get canned pumpkin so I used squash that I baked and processed with a food mill. I soaked the flour. We also do not have buttermilk so I used yogurt and about 1/3 cup water to get the batter to the right consistency. When I made the pancakes they looked great, but seemed raw inside. Well, to make a long story short I put them in the freezer and warmed them up today and they were great.
