Menu Plan for the Week

If you haven’t already, many of you who pre-ordered Oh, For Real should be receiving it in the mail any day now! (Those of you who just ordered last week – yours will be on its way tomorrow!)  I’ve heard back from several of you who have received your book already. Thank you so much for your encouraging responses!

Jolene:  Got my Oh, For Real book today in the mail!!! Loving it already!

Patty:  Just wanted to let you know that since bringing your book home my oldest (10 years) has been cooking up a storm. I have never seen him so excited to be in the kitchen. He is preparing everything with only a little guidance. We have had a lot of messes in the kitchen, but some delicious food.

Beth:  I got my book in the mail yesterday. I enjoyed looking through it last evening even though it made me hungry. I plan to share the book with my daughter.

I have to say (and I feel a little bit giggly as I say it) – Having my own cookbook in my kitchen has already been a tremendous help to me, too. I have to keep reminding myself that it’s there. My first response when I need to check a recipe is to run to the computer to look it up here on my website. Then I remember, “Laura! Look in your book!” And there it is. I’m so thankful for it, and I’m happy to say that so far, I’ve been careful enough not to spill anything on it. (Now that I’ve said that out loud, I will probably go goober it up with a pretty combination of chicken broth, barbecue sauce, and cookie dough.)

Here is what our menu plan looks like for this week:

Sunday, March 24
Homemade poptarts, apples
Barbecue chicken sandwiches, carrot sticks
Huddle at our friends’ house

Monday, March 25
Easy breakfast casserole, oranges
Pizza boats, peas
Cheesy salsa enchiladas, tossed salad

Tuesday, March 26
Quick mix pancakes, blueberries
Chicken patty sandwiches, creamy cole slaw, strawberry-peach slushies
Roasted chicken, potatoes, carrots, gravy

Wednesday, March 27
Peanut butter chocolate chip muffins, applesauce
Tacos
Alfredo sauce with pasta, tossed salad

Thursday, March 28
Blueberry coffeecake, apples
Homemade corndogs, green beans, carrot sticks
Creamy crockpot chicken and rice, tossed salad

Friday, March 29
Baked oatmeal cups, bananas
Cheese quesadillas, pears
Popcorn chicken, steamed veggies

Saturday, March 30
Granola, dried fruit
Leftovers
Potato soup, carrots

Got my cookbook yesterday and love it, I love it, I love it!!! I like the way that each recipe highlights where to look for the highlights in blue and then go right to the page and there’s the recipe. I was going to organize the ones that I have printed off your website, but now I won’t have to go to all of that work – it’s already done for me. Thanks so much!!!
(P.S. Where/how do I get my $10.00 coupon to use – I was not able to print it off.)
    Fabulous job on the cookbook!!!!

Aw, that’s awesome! I’ve gotta say, now that I’ve met several of you, I hate that I live far away. Wish we could all get together more!

Splatters make a cookbook feel loved, right? :)

I have also enjoyed it Laura. I made mudballs the other day for the first time out of it. I don’t hear “goober it up” much, but I think I like it, and I think I’m going to start incorporating that into my speech. :)

Yes, you should start using that phrase. And when people look at you funny, you have me to thank. You’re welcome…I think. :)

I’d love to get my hands on a copy of your cookbook! I plan on getting one as soon as I’m able to! Your recipes have always been a hit here, with my family!

Just wanted to say thanks for these great recipe posts (they’re my favorite!) and to say that you should check the spelling of the word SATURDAY on your menu post, made me laugh! :)

Mine came in the mail today, much to my excitement. All other responsibilities had to come to a grinding halt while I took some time to look through it. I’m so glad you put in lovely photos for almost every recipe! I’ve already used so many of these recipes from your website and it will be SO NICE to be able to access them now in this lovely cookbook. Thank you ever so much!

    Hi Laura,
When looking at your meal plan, I am curious if is that all your boys eat all day….what do they eat in between meals? I have some boys that eat a lot. My friend has 3 boys that eat a lot! Are the meals just that filling? I am just trying to figure it out…thanks….can’t wait to get my book!

They definitely eat in between meals, especially my two younger boys who don’t eat as much at mealtime. :)
