Learn Your Numbers, Learn to Serve Curriculum Kit ~ Ready NOW! (Download Your Free Sample Lesson)

August 28, 2015 by Laura 5 Comments

This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see our disclosure policy.

It’s here!! I am so excited to share our brand new early learners curriculum kit with you! It contains 148 pages filled with activities, patterns, printables, instructions, crafts, and games – all with the purpose of teaching your child numbers, counting, Bible stories and teachings, and a heart of service – all at the same time.

What will you find in Learn Your Numbers, Learn to Serve Curriculum Kit?

Let's Learn!

The Academics

This book will offer your child the chance to develop skills in

  • 0-12 Number Recognition
  • 0-12 Number Writing
  • One-to-One Counting (one to one = a number is assigned to an object during the counting process)
  • Pattern Building
  • Sorting
  • Critical Thinking
  • Additional areas beyond numbers and counting (such as colors, shapes, etc.)

Bible Learning and Application

What Does the Bible Say

Why not use the story of Jesus feeding 5,000 people with 5 loaves and 2 fish to teach numbers? How about reading the story of the young 8 year-old King Josiah along with learning the number 8? The 7 days of creation while learning about the number 7? Of course! There’s a Bible story/reading suggestion for every number lesson from 0-12.

Count Your Blessings!

Count Your Blessings!

If we’re learning to count, we may as well start with our blessings! This book provides you with this great opportunity to participate in gratitude with not only your little one(s), but with your entire family.

The Service Training: Be a Blessing!

Be a Blessing!

This is where we bring it all together. Each lesson will offer a variety of suggestions, patterns, printables, recipes, or other fun ways to use number knowledge to serve others. For example, when reading about the 5 loaves of bread Jesus served the people – make 5 mini-loaves of your favorite quick bread to deliver to 5 people. What fun, and what a wonderful opportunity for your family to look at ways to serve others!

This is available in download form only.

There are lessons in the book from numbers 0 through 12 – thirteen complete lessons in all. Do one per week, do one per month, do whatever works best for your child(ren) and family! There’s no right or wrong way. There’s no specific Bible translation used. This is all created with flexibility for your family.

The “I’m Not Here So You Might As Well Steal Everything From My Shop” Sale

No really. I’m not here. I’m at church camp and I’m mostly offline because the internet doesn’t like church camp as much as the rest of us do.

So while I’m gone, I figure you might as well go raid my shop. No really, go ahead. No one is watching. You won’t even have to sneak. I’m giving you permission.

Heavenly Homemakers Books and eCourses

I’ll even give you a coupon code – let’s call it LAURAISGONE – so that you can go fill your cart with anything you want (except for our printed items) at a 35% discount. Yep, 35% off!!!

To be clear: I’m nice, but if you buy any of our printed items with the coupon code I will reappear as soon as I’m able to refund your purchase and say, “Sorry, I’m not that nice and I can’t eat all of our printing and shipping costs.” So again: DO NOT use the code on our printed books. (Somebody sure is bossy. Good thing she’s gone.) <—Hey, I heard that.

The good news is, when you sneak into my shop you will find over 30 other e-products in our shop for immediate download. That’s a lot to pick from along with a very healthy discount.

So go to the Heavenly Homemakers Shop now. Spend as long as you want looking though all of the eBooks, Curriculum, eCourses, and more. Put everything you want (except the printed items – I can’t remember if I said that already) into your cart, then use the code LAURAISGONE to knock off 35% of your total.

You can use this code through Wednesday, July 22.

Okeedokee? Don’t have too much fun without me while I’m gone. But do enjoy the discount – on everything but the printed items. (I just can’t let it go.)

Eat Right Away Collection2

You asked. I hurried. :) Just in time to beat the summer heat, Eat Right Away: Slow Cooker Chicken Edition and Eat Right Away: Slow Cooker Beef Edition are here!

Eat Right Away Slow Cooker Chicken Edition 2sm

Actually, I wanted the Eat Right Away Slow Cooker Editions as much as you did – so I worked double time. Now that they are finished, I’m gonna tell you this: As much as I love the other editions, I love these slow cooker editions even more. These meals take even less time to prepare than the others (I didn’t know it was possible). And then to just place all prepared ingredients into a crock pot and walk away until meal time? It does not get any easier! Love, love, love!

Eat Right Away Slow Cooker Beef Edition 2sm

Beyond saving time and serving your family real food meals, these packets will help you save money. These meals are very low in cost!

Each of these downloadable Eat Right Away packets  include:

  • 5 brand new recipes
  • 5 individual meal grocery lists, plus 1 big grocery list to aid you in making all five meals in one sitting (though you’ll actually be standing, not sitting, my apologies).
  • 5 individual recipe instructions, plus 1 “Be Efficient” set of instructions to guide you through making all five meals in about a 1-hour time frame
  • Freezer safe instructions for each recipe, plus guidance on thawing, putting the food into a slow cooker, then serving each meal with little effort
  • Serving suggestions so you don’t have to think about the side dishes
  • Bonus tips

Each packet is only $2.00. Yep! That’s it. We want to get them into all of your hands to help you save time and money in your real food kitchen. Just like the other packets, the ten recipes in these two packets are either naturally gluten free or can be easily adapted to be gluten free. Bonus!

Check it out. I borrowed another family to be my taste-testers for some of these recipes. I wanted to be sure these really were as easy as I thought they were (and as yummy). I received some great feedback and food pictures, but of course, the picture with the three year-old taste-tester is my very fav.

Here’s a closer look at each new packet:

  • Roast Beef and Melted Cheese Sandwiches
  • Mongolian Beef
  • Balsamic Beef Roast

Eat Right Away ~ Introducing $2.00 Packets Built to Bless Your Family Dinner!

This idea has been a long time in the making! I’m very excited to introduce our latest project. It’s a collection of downloadable make-ahead recipe and instruction packets called Eat Right Away: Your Guide to Real Food Fast!

Eat Right Away Collection2

Each of these downloadable Eat Right Away packets include:

  • 5 brand new recipes
  • 5 individual meal grocery lists, plus 1 big grocery list to aid you in making all five meals in one sitting (though you’ll actually be standing, not sitting, my apologies).
  • 5 individual recipe instructions, plus 1 “Be Efficient” set of instructions to guide you through making all five meals in one 2ish-hour time frame
  • Freezer safe instructions for each recipe, plus guidance on thawing, reheating, and serving each meal with little effort.
  • Serving suggestions so you don’t have to think about the side dishes
  • Bonus tips

Each packet is only $2.00, and we’ve made it easy by packaging all four packets together into one $8.00 collection! Yep! That’s it. We want to get them into all of your hands to help you save time and money in your real food kitchen.

Each recipe is family friendly, easy to prepare, contains simple, real food ingredients, and can be made ahead and frozen so that you can Eat Right Away!

Bonus! So far, the ten recipes in these two packets can be easily adapted to be gluten free. The only ingredient which is not naturally gluten free in these recipes is pasta. Sub the wheat pasta for rice or corn pasta and voila! 10 gluten free recipes that you can Eat Right Away!

Let’s begin with Eat Right Away: Beef Edition. Recipes included are:

  • Cheesy Salsa Burgers (The easiest recipe ever. Make it gluten free by serving on a bed of lettuce.)
  • One Dish Cheesy Beef and Potatoes (Our family’s favorite so far.)
  • Bacon-Wrapped Individual Meatloaves (Make ’em ahead, pull ’em out, cook ’em up! You don’t even have to thaw these in advance.)
  • Easy Hamburger Soup (The ultimate comfort food.)
  • Baked Ziti (Could it be possible that we like this as much as lasagna? Yes.)

Eat Right Away, Beef Edition

Make all five meals in about 2 hours time. Be rewarded with five delicious meals to pull out and serve with little additional effort!

Next, take a look at Eat Right Away: Chicken Edition. Recipes included are:

  • Teriyaki Chicken and Veggie Kabobs (This one takes a tiny bit of extra effort. It is WORTH IT.)
  • Easy Apricot Chicken (Takes five minutes to make. No joke.)
  • Sloppy Salsa Chicken (Also takes five minutes…okay six. I’m serious.)
  • Mexi-Chicken Pasta (Where has this been all my life?)
  • Chicken Tostadas (So fast!)

Eat Right Away, Chicken Edition

Make all five meals in about less than 2 hours time. Be rewarded with five delicious meals to pull out and serve with little additional effort!

Eat Right Away: Slow Cooker Chicken Edition ~ Recipes Included Are:

  • Cheesy Chicken Potatoes and Broccoli
  • Italian Chicken and Veggies
  • Black Bean and Corn Salsa Chicken
  • Barbecue Cranberry Chicken

What if I don’t want to blog on a schedule anymore?

May 3, 2015 by Laura 122 Comments

This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see our disclosure policy.

After a very full, very wonderful weekend – I’m finally finding a minute to sit down and type out a weekly menu to share with you. But here’s what I can’t stop thinking:

I don’t want to type out a menu to share.

It’s not because I don’t love menu plans and find them really helpful. It’s just that it takes quite a bit of time each week to type it all out and find the links for all the recipes. What if I just want to take a few minutes to scratch down my menu plan in my Menu Planning Notebook and throw it on my fridge?

And what if sometimes I have something on my heart to share for Gratituesday, but sometimes I think of something that fits this but it’s (believe it or not) a Friday? Do I save it for Gratituesday or share it on Friday and give you a recipe on Tuesday instead?

I don’t know, you guys. It’s weird and maybe it even seems silly, but even though I’m thankful for a million and a half things – sometimes “coming up with” a Gratituesday post each week feels like pressure to me. Just like typing out a menu plan has begun to feel like “work.”

Don’t misunderstand. I love what I do here. {insert lots of exclamation marks all over the place} I just wonder if I would maybe love it more if I stopped blogging so much on a schedule and simply…blogged.

You know what my best posts have been? They’ve been the posts God has put on my heart to write, then I’ve listened and obeyed. But keeping to a schedule has sometimes meant that I don’t have time to write some of what God has put on my heart. I can’t even tell you how many great lessons God has been teaching me lately. I want to fill books and posts and newsletters about it all! But then I too often run out of time because I’m taking the time to write a menu or whatever.

(All great writers end sentences with “or whatever.” It’s a great way to add meaning to a thought and all that stuff.)

I know many of you love reading my menu plans. The good news is that I’ve got two eBooks filled with them and about 1,000 menu plans for free in my archives that you can access at any time for inspiration. I will welcome the time this frees up for me to focus on other writing, so I won’t grieve this change much.

But not writing a Gratituesday post each week? Well that makes me tear up a little. That has been a weekly part of Heavenly Homemakers since this site was a newborn. I really want to hear from you on this! Stop Gratituesday as a feature or keep it? I promise that if it’s no longer a weekly feature, I will absolutely still share what I’m grateful for as I have something special to share. It just might not be on a Tuesday. Shoot. I don’t know. There’s something really special about Gratituesday. It’s hard to think about letting that go.

I would really appreciate your input. What do you love about HeavenlyHomemakers.com? What blesses you the most?

It takes hours each week to keep up with this site. These are hours I love, but I’m always behind on keeping up and I want my time to be spent in a way that is a blessing to you – my very dear and precious readers. Plus I want my content to be Spirit led, not schedule led.

So will you please share your thoughts with me? I’m praying over this and will pray over your comments as I consider them.

God has done amazing things with HeavenlyHomemakers.com. I can’t help but wonder what He has in mind next.

See You After Easter!

March 27, 2015 by Laura 25 Comments

This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see our disclosure policy.

Want to know a secret?

Since August I have been exploring, studying, and learning about what it means to take a weekly Sabbath rest. It has been oh-my-goodness wonderful and also very hard. How is a mom supposed to take a Sabbath rest every week when there is so much to be done??? This is what I’ve been exploring for the past seven months. I’ve been journaling my way through this challenging yet blessed learning process. You’ll get to read about it some day. :)

This morning the Spirit prompted me to take a different kind of rest. I began this blog in November 2007 and have posted almost daily since. That’s 4,006 posts of fun! I love writing, I love you, I love interacting here. I’ve taken breaks here and there during the past seven years, but that usually means that I’ve worked ahead of time to get posts ready to go up even if I’m gone.

This week, I’m going to have a time of quiet. No writing, no picture taking, no thinking about what to post next. Okay fine.  I actually might write. It’s hard for me not to write because I love writing. I’m just not going to post what I write – for seven entire days of quiet.

elias cross pic

This comes at a perfect time as we reflect more fully on the sacrifice Jesus made and the miracle of his resurrection. Taking in the Word instead of kicking out words for daily posts sounds all kinds of refreshing.

To all my regular readers: thank you for showing up here every day. This week, use the time you normally read my daily posts to read something from the Word instead. Take some quiet time to listen to His message for your life.

If after that you still want a little Heavenly Homemaker encouragement, just search through the 4,006 posts in the archives. The recipes, tips, and books are all there for your reading pleasure. :)

Beyond a blogging break to find refreshment, I’m going to become re-acquainted with my scrub brush as there is much filth in my house that can no longer be ignored. I’m actually looking forward to it. (Whoa, that’s crazy talk.)

My keyboard and I will miss you. Have a wonderful week and I’ll see you after Easter!

THIS is How Excited I Am About Fresh Fruits and Vegetables From the Garden

March 18, 2015 by Laura 2 Comments

This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see our disclosure policy.

The grocery store and our local food co-ops are great to offer fresh fruits and veggies all year round. But now that the sun is starting to shine more frequently – I’m starting to crave some soil. (And just like that, you pictured me with my face in the dirt like I’m a little kid deficient in a vital nutrient.)

I just want to plant something, that’s all. And I’m craving the freshness of what I can get from our garden, our neighbor’s garden (they share, c’mon now), or our farmer’s market.

Because I’m excited about this, and because I want you to be too, I decided to do something fun:

First, I took my Guide to Gardening and Preserving eBook and I discounted it. Then, I took my Eat Your Fruits…and Veggies Too eBook, and I new and improved it. (You can make anything a verb if you want to.)  Last, I decided to give you my Eat Your Fruits and Veggies Too eBook for free when you purchase the discounted Gardening and Preserving eBook. Why not, right? I’m excited for the season!

What if you don’t like to garden or don’t have room for a garden? You can still use this Gardening and Preserving Guide. How? Instead of growing the food yourself, you find other sources – beginning with your farmer’s market. You get your hands on all the great produce you can. This book will help you know how to preserve it and serve it to your family.

The Eat Your Fruits…and Veggies Too eBook will give you ideas and recipes so you can easily serve more of these goodies to your family. And it’s free.  Oh yeah!

Gardening and Preserving Deal

No need to add the Fruits and Veggies book to your cart. The free download will come with your $5 purchase of Heavenly Homemaker’s Guide to Gardening and Preserving. Easy as that!

This offer is good through Monday, March 23.  Happy Spring!

This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, please see our disclosure policy.

Top 10 Kitchen Tips

Here is a life-changing  list of my top 10 kitchen tips ever, and the links where you will find the wonderful details on each:

10. Don’t forget to close the dispenser on your blender.
9. Never overfill said blender.
8. Clearly label your freezer food so you won’t have to wait for the food to thaw and bake before you recognize what it is.
7. A fresh tablecloth makes everything better.
6. Be sure to allow room for expansion when you fill jars with food for the freezer so your beloved jars won’t break.
5. If your garden is destroyed by a hail storm, wait and trust. It might just bounce back.
4. Buttering your pineapple is not a good idea.
3. Wearing mis-matched rubber gloves is the best way to clean.
2. Don’t touch your eyeball with your hands after chopping hot peppers.
1. Never, ever forget that God is bigger than a free range chicken.

Just reading that list makes you a better homemaker, does it not? Really. What would you ever do without my insights and advice? (I forgot to mention earlier, you should always be sure to sift the popcorn out of your waffle mix. Keep hanging around. The wisdom never ends around here, my friends.)

And now, I am excited to share with you that through Monday, February 9 at midnight, our very popular Heavenly Homemaker’s eBook Overload Package is marked down to just $10.  That’s 10 eBooks for $10.  Seriously!
