Matt and I have thoroughly enjoyed writing the Healthy Marriage Tips from A to Z series together, and appreciate the ways you have all sharpened us through your emails and comments regarding the subject of healthy marriages. Now that we’ve worked our way through the alphabet, we have compiled all of the posts in this series and put them into a free, downloadable resource for you. We are excited to offer this to everyone, with no strings attached.

We would be honored if you would be willing to share this eBook with anyone you feel might benefit from reading it. There is no limit to the number of copies you can make of this eBook or the number of times you are allowed to download it. All we ask is that you don’t sell it, but we probably didn’t need to say that, right? :)

We would appreciate any suggestions you might have as to where Matt and I should head at this point as we write more marriage content for the site. Share your ideas in the comments or send us an email to offer your thoughts about what you feel would benefit you and your spouse the most. Thanks!

And now, we are thrilled to offer, free to everyone, Healthy Marriage Tips from A to Z eBook:

Hi Laura, this post could serve as a Gratituesday post for your readers! I told my husband about this over the weekend, and we are going to work through these together. Now that they are all in one easy place to find, that will encourage us even more! God be praised for the Coppinger family ministries!

Awesome! Maybe some encouragement for those whose spouses are not putting God first (more like going through the motions) or help on how to encourage hubby to be the head of household

Thanks so much for the free download ! We have 8 sons and 2 daughters. My sons are also involved in sports. I am interested in how you get everything done and participate in sports. After the twins, I had to give up most of my “from scratch ” cooking. I would be interested in your weekly schedule and chore lists. Right now my sons still at home are ages 18,16,14,12,10,8,8, and a 3 year old daughter. I do homeschool the 6 youngest. You and Matt have been such an encouragement. I refer people to your website all the time. Thanks again.

    Hi Laura! :)

What a wonderful resource. Can I make a suggestion for your next one? Marriage is a lot of work, but it can also be a lot of fun. Husbands and wives should take time every week to do something together, just the two of them. Can I suggest that your next series of articles be information on a weekly activity for husband and wife? Your challenge (should you choose to accept it) is to find 52 different things for you and your husband to do over the next year, and then report on the activity! Do you think you’re up to the challenge?! :)

    Thanks!
    ~ Kathy

Thanks so much for this ebook. My husband and I read from your site together often. I would like to see something about how to put your husband first (over the children) in the Way God intended when you have small children at home. I feel sometimes that my husband feels pushed to the back burner and that is not what I intend but I find it hard to put him and his needs before my children. He doesn’t complain, but I want him to feel needed and loved and I really want my family dynamics to be as God intended. Thanks

There are probably many ways in which you are already doing this, and may not even realize! Little things like:
~ making sure he has clean clothes each morning when getting ready to leave the house,
~ making his lunch (if you do)
      ~ baking much-loved pies or cookies or…
~ buying his favorite shampoo (etc)
~ giving him a hug and a kiss when he walks in the door after work each day (***a big one***)
~ bringing him a cup of coffee after supper
      ~ keeping up the house
~ taking care of the children
      ~ remembering his birthday
~ remembering him on Father’s Day
~ leaving love notes (big or little) here and there (this can be FUN!)
~ rubbing his shoulders or feet for a few minutes
~ REMIND him (OFTEN) that you love him
There are so many little things that don’t require a lot of time by them selves that we can do throughout the day to show our love for our husbands. It may not seem perfect, or like the ideal way, but these small things do mean a lot to them, even if they just feel like daily tasks. Imagine if you DIDN’T do them….
Another really big thing that will show your love for him is showing him how happy you are!! (Of course easier said than done at times.) Lots of smiles and some playful attitude go a long way. Knowing YOU are happy will give him more assurance that he is loved.
We have six children (12 to newborn), and the more I practice these “little” things, and focusing on SHOWING how happy I am (because I really am!), the more I feel his love for me, and the more I can FEEL that he knows I love him. It’s one of those cause-and-effect things. Try these, or keep them up if you’re already doing them! They mean more than we know.
      Blessings to you!
      ~Crystal

Sadly nowadays in this age of the “empowered woman” doing many of these things would mean you’re a “slave” to your husband. Or something.

(Don’t listen to these people that say this).

Thank you so much for your ministry to married couples! A dear friend of mine is getting married in March and I think this would be a great resource for her.

As far as future issues to address, I think it would be helpful to explore the Biblical roles of husband and wife. I know that is an area where I am continually growing and being challenged as a wife. I would also love to read a more in-depth look at a healthy and God-honoring “X” life in a marriage. Katherine’s suggestion about fun activities to do together sounds like fun as well!

An ebook is in a pdf file. All you have to do is click on the link above and you’ll be able to read/print it. You need adobe reader on your computer to be able to open a pdf file, which is free online.

Thanks Laura and Matt! I started reading at like M so this will be awesome to print and start from A!

I loved what Brittany suggested: I would like to see something about how to put your husband first (over the children) in the Way God intended when you have small children at home. I feel sometimes that my husband feels pushed to the back burner and that is not what I intend but I find it hard to put him and his needs before my children. He doesn’t complain, but I want him to feel needed and loved and I really want my family dynamics to be as God intended. Quoted by Brittany!

This is where I am right now. The Bible says that I will have no other idols, but sometimes I feel like my affections and love is so much for my daughter (that was hard to conceive) comes first. Before God and my husband. I would really like my like to look like it should: God, Husband, Daughter. I need some encouragement in that!

    Thanks I love your site!
