Well, my baby is turning six on Monday. He is incredibly excited and has been counting down the days for months (not an easy thing to do). I showed Matt a pair of new jammies I had bought for Malachi for Christmas and he said, “Is our baby really that big?” At least it’s not just me. Sigh….
Incidentally, I started this blog about a month before Malachi turned three. I wrote (way back then) about My Baby Turning Three if you’d like to take a look at how little he was (and read about what an issue I have with my baby having birthdays).
You can imagine that now that he’s (almost) six, he just loves it when we call him “our baby”.
Aaah, I call all of our boys “my babies” every once in a while. The thirteen year old especially appreciates it. ;)

Hey it’s MY Birthday Monday! (31 thought…little bit older than 6) :)
Happy Birthday to your baby boy! (6 still counts as a baby, right?) I always have a mix of emotions on my kids birthdays…I am excited that they are maturing…but they are my babies!!!

My twin girls turned 6 on the 5th. They are my oldest, so they are my “big girls.” ;) I have to pull out the scrapbooks to have them back as babies again. I didn’t realize how fast it was going to go with the first 3 babies. So I am relishing the time with the baby, cause I know she’ll be there before I know it!

Do you know if it would work to let this bread rise overnight? Or would I need to freeze the dough first. Monkey bread is our Christmas morning breakfast treat, but I’ve always used the (completely unhealthy) frozen dough (the little balls of dough that can be baked into dinner rolls) so that we put it together at bedtime on Christmas eve and all I have to do in the morning is turn the oven on. I’d love a healthier alternative, but with a toddler whose sleep still leaves alot to be desired, I need to still be able to put it together the night before. Has anyone tried that with a healthier dough?
Laura says
Yes, my recipe works to prepare the day before and refrigerate, then bake the next morning!

O.K. I have to know how you make your green been casserole? Is there a HEALTHY version (surely you aren’t using those canned soups that are laden with MSG??? – but if you are, I’ll forgive you because I have to have those little “Christmas compromises, too!)
Laura says
I actually have a healthy version that I make which is in my Holiday Hospitality ebook. BUT, we’ll be eating with family members on Christmas day, so I’m assuming they’ll make it with the canned soup and etc. I’ll just have a little bit. :)

Happy Birthday Malachi! My little girl turned 6 this year. It just goes by too quickly!
I was also going to say that we tried the Taco Potatoes last night and we loved them. What a great recipe and so easy!
