Menu Plan for the Week

Yesterday was Matt’s birthday, which means that he is now “as old as I am” again. I am an entire four months older than him and he has fun reminding me of that. :)  We celebrated with Cheesy Turkey Sausage Stromboli and Peach Cobbler, two of his favorites.

Here’s what’s on the menu for this week:

Sunday, November 7
Oatmeal, pears
Potato Soup, carrot sticks, fruit salad
Corn Dog Muffins, apples

Monday, November 8
Chocolate chocolate chip muffins, oranges
Taco Potatoes with lettuce and tomatoes, peaches
Roasted chicken, potatoes, carrots, gravy, green beans

Tuesday, November 9
Creamy orange cooler, fried eggs on toast
Turkey sausage, hashbrowns, fruit salad
Chicken & biscuits with veggies

Wednesday, November 10
Honey whole wheat bagels, applesauce
Pizza casserole, tossed salad, corn
Chicken tortilla soup, raw veggies

Thursday, November 11
Scrambled egg sandwiches, pears
Italian stew with green beans
Shepherds pie

Friday, November 12
Warm vanilla soother, honey wheat muffins
Grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup
Lasagna, tossed salad

Saturday, November 13
Whole wheat cinnamon rolls, apples
Leftovers
Pizza

Matt almost always chooses a Peach Cobbler instead of a birthday cake (which none of us complains about). Anyone else out there pick a different birthday dessert instead of a cake?

Happy late birthday to Matt! If I had my preference I’d get a cheesecake instead of a birthday cake but no one bakes them but me.

My husband ALWAYS opts for a cherry cheesecake instead of regular “cake” on his birthday. He usually eats it all himself ;o)

My husband asks for a Key Lime Pie for his birthday every year.

My husband loves anything lemon! A few years ago I made him a lemonade cake. It was sooooo good! Our kids are 6 and 3 and they love to make their daddy cake, so we do still do cake! :)

FYI I made cinnamon rolls this morning for our youth group, and I put your caramel frosting on the. Delicious!

Happy birthday to your hubby. My eldest son turned 13 on Nov 5th! We are not cake and frosting folks here either, so we have all nature of alternative birthday desserts. My eldest likes pumpkin pie or ice cream sundaes, my middle likes root beer floats, my daughter likes a homemade ice cream cake that I make for her, my hubby likes cherry cheesecake (no bake) and I like fruit pies or crisps.

My husband asked for a cherry pie this year. I’m not much for cake myself either. Happy birthday to your husband :-)

My husband has been buying me a cheesecake for my birthday for a while now. It is my favorite.

Lol, guess I’m not hungry right now b/c I remained stuck on the four months older part. I’m reminded annually that I’m almost five months older than mine. ;) Ah, the joys of a “younger” hubby. :)

I think that it is all about the crème brûlée with the hard caramelized top! My mother in law makes the best ginger Crème brûlée!

My birthday is the day after Christmas, so growing up I always had leftover pies (which was pretty fun).

Hubs has baked a cake the last few years but with all the Christmas cookies and fudge in the house, I am just as happy with a candle stuck in the middle of peppermint fudge.

I always choose a fruit pie and ice cream over cake but a fruit cobbler sounds good too.

Yes! My husband chooses berry pie -he has a summer birthday.

I prefer anything with ice cream, although my birthday is in March. I would also choose a fruit dessert over cake anytime. We are not too into cake at our house.

Staring down my 38th B-day and I think this is the first one that will bother me a bit.

I noticed that you had 3 meals of chicken this week, are they all leftover meat from the roasted chicken?

Yes actually…I’ll probably be able to get all of our chicken meals off of that one roasted chicken. That’s the plan anyway! So far so good!

my daughter’s birthday is coming up on Thanksgiving this year and her request for a cake is just to put candles in the turkey!! Probably the weirdest “cake” anyone ever thought of but she loves turkey so much (and really isn’t into cake all that much). Happy Birthday, Matt!!
